A Visit to a Bulgarian Village
Duration: 3 hours
Tour Code: nes-002
Begin this unique tour with a drive through the scenic countryside just inland from Nessebur. Arriving at a small rural village, your first stop will be to the family home of one of the local residents. Here, you'll be given a rare opportunity for a glimpse of what domestic country life is truly like in this fascinating country. While your hosts speak only Bulgarian, your guide will translate for you as they warmly welcome you into their home and proudly show you their household items and well-tended garden.
Continuing on, a brief visit is made to the utterly charming small village church tucked away in the center of town. Leaving the church, your next stop is at the city hall where in the spirit of true Bulgarian hospitality, the mayor will personally greet you and happily answer all of your questions about village life and the hopes and dreams of the people who reside here. Following a delightful and very enlightening visit with the mayor, you'll re-board your coach for the return trip to the ship.
