Port: Philipsburg

Philipsburg

Philipsburg

St. Maarten is the smallest piece of land shared by two sovereign states. Legend has it that the Dutch and French boundaries of the island were determined by two men who challenged one another in a race around the island, with the Frenchman walking faster and claiming more land. Legend or not, both the Dutch and French settled here in the 1630s and despite occupancy by the British twice, the Dutch and French have lived peacefully together ever since they arrived.

The following Shore Excursions are available for this port on this cruise, and may be reserved beginning 180 days before the cruise begins.

Seated Tour Regent Choice Meal

If you are a motorcycle enthusiast, then don't miss this memorable ride that explores the natural beauty of St. Maarten.

Depart the pier for the coach transfer through Philipsburg, the Dutch capital, and on to the staging point at The Village. Here, you will select your legendary Harley Davidson Fat Boy or classic Heritage motorcycle. Following your safety instructions, you will receive your helmet and climb aboard your motorcycle. You will then follow your guide on a scenic tour past the Simpson Bay Marina, home to many luxurious mega-yachts, then continue on through Maho, Mullet Bay and the lowlands that are famous for their celebrity appeal.

Next, you will arrive at the French capital of Marigot for an opportunity to see Ft. Louis. Your ride will then resume across the island's north coast, through Grand Case and on to Orient Bay, where a stop will be made for a quick dip on its popular beach (nude sunbathing is permitted in some parts).

Afterward, your ride will continue on through the countryside and back to The Village. Here, you will relax with a late lunch accompanied by a variety of refreshments before boarding a transfer coach for the return drive to the ship.

Please note: A late light lunch, two bottles of water and various drinks are included on this tour (no alcohol will be served until after the ride has finished). There will be a guide in front and an escort jeep in the back. Guests must bring along a credit card and current motorcycle license to complete the rental contract. This tour is priced per-bike, and includes CDW insurance with a $1,000.00 deductible. The deductible will be charged, in full or part, to the driver's credit card in the event the motorcycle is returned damaged. The minimum driving age to participate on this tour is 25 years old, and 18 for passengers. Stores in Marigot are closed on Sundays.
