The Statue of Liberty is one of the world’s most renowned images. On this tour you will stand at the base of “Lady Liberty,” delve into the history of this iconic statue with a visit to its museum, and take in the marvelous view from the pedestal’s Observation Deck.

Boarding your coach at the pier, it's a brief transfer to Battery Park, which lies at the Southern tip of Manhattan. Here, you will board the ferry and take in the sites of New York Harbor, including beautiful views of the city, Brooklyn and its famous Bridge, Staten Island, New Jersey and the Manhattan skyline in the distance. You'll disembark your ferry at Liberty Island, location of the Statue of Liberty National Monument, which was completed on October 28, 1886. Stand in awe as you look up and see what so many saw as their first sight of a new life in America. From the base to the top of the torch, she is 151 feet high. Officially named “Liberty Enlightening the World,” the exterior structure of the statue is made of copper and the interior support structure is made of steel. For this in-depth tour, you will have access to the interior of the pedestal, where you can view the statue’s interior structure. Enjoy sweeping 360-degree views from the pedestal observation deck and Ft. Wood. During your visit, there will be ample time to explore the museum and Liberty Island before embarking the ferry for the return trip to Battery Park, passing Ellis Island along the way.

During your coach transfer back to the ship, your guide will provide commentary and point out landmarks and points of interest.

Please note: There is moderate walking involved on the tour as well as steps to negotiate; however, much of it can be at the guests' discretion. The tour is available to wheelchair guests who have a collapsible wheelchair, are able to make their own way on and off the coach and have an able-bodied companion to assist them. Those guests with mobility concerns are cautioned only to participate to the extent of their personal stamina and ability and may make arrangements with the guide to not participate in some of the walking portions of the tour. Because the temperature on the water can be much cooler, it is recommended that tour participants bring a light weight jacket or dress in layers. Casual clothing and comfortable, flat walking shoes are suggested. Restrooms are available at each location and on the ferry. Guests must pass through an airline-style security check before being allowed to board the ferry and there may be a wait of 20-30 minutes for the ferry. Food and beverage venues are available at the location.
