Bangkok (Laem Chabang)
Bangkok is the capital and largest city in Thailand. It began as a small trading center on the west bank of the Chao Phraya River serving the Ayutthaya Kingdom, the precursor of modern Thailand which existed from 1350 to 1767. The city has vastly modernized and undergone numerous changes, including the introduction of transportation and utility infrastructure in the reigns of King Mongkut and King Chulalongkorn, and quickly developed into the economic centre of Thailand.
The following Shore Excursions are available for this port on this cruise, and may be reserved beginning 180 days before the cruise begins.

Experience the unique traditions, lifestyles and people of Bangkok during this scenic tour of the city by land and boat.
Depart the hotel for a 1-hour drive through the city and countryside. You will then board a traditional long-tail boat for an exhilarating ride to the Damnernsaduak Market, then on through marshes and past stilt houses along the river. Along the way, you will see Thai-style canoes laden with colorful fruit while navigating their way through the canals. This ancient method of trading on the water provides an exciting and interesting look at traditional Thai life. Bargaining is a must with the cheerful vendors, who are likely to offer you samples of their products.
After leaving this engaging, albeit chaotic scene, you will visit Nakorn Pathom, the world's tallest pagoda, before re-boarding your coach for the return drive to Bangkok.
Please note: This tour will depart from and end at the Shangri-La Hotel in Bangkok. This tour is not recommended for guests with limited mobility or guests who utilize a wheelchair. Seating on the boats is on the floor; there are no chairs available. Take along a plastic bag for camera equipment, and expect to get splashed while on the boat ride.
