St. John's

When Columbus discovered Antigua in 1493, he encountered the unfriendly Carib Indians. Columbus named the island Santa Maria de Antigua, in honor of a church in Spain. For many years, both the Spanish and French were unable to settle on the island due to the fierce nature of the Caribs. But in 1632, the British took control of this island, developing the sugarcane industry with the use of slaves imported from Africa. In 1981 Antigua was granted independence anb became a British commonwealth.

Seated Tour Regent Choice Water-Related Tours

Explore the spectacular marine life of the Caribbean during this relaxing fishing and snorkeling tour along the northwest coast of Antigua.

Depart from the pier with your guide for the brief stroll to your awaiting 36-foot, Twin-V power catamaran, the HS Mac. Embark the vessel for an exhilarating boat ride along the northwest coast to Sisters, one of Antigua's best fishing locales. En route, you will pass by Fort James, Runaway Bay, Dickenson Bay and Prickly Pear Island, as well as secluded beaches, 5-star hotels and exclusive homes.

Upon arrival at Sisters, the captain will drop anchor or drift. After receiving your fishing rod, reel and bait, you will begin fishing in the teeming waters of the Caribbean. Your crew will provide you with fishing tips, and expert assistance throughout. Fishing will be performed on a catch-and-release basis.

Next, you will continue on to Paradise Reef. Upon arrival, you will be outfitted with your mask and fins, and begin snorkeling in the crystal-clear waters. You may also opt to take a swim, or simply relax and soak up the sun in this exotic enclave on board the boat, which features an open bar serving rum punch, beer, water, and soft drinks.

You tour will conclude with the return ride past the secluded beaches, exclusive homes and hotels along the northwest coast, and back to the pier.

Please note: Guests are advised to wear a swimsuit under a cover-up, sunscreen, a hat and sunglasses, and bring a camera and towel from the ship.
