Explore the unique and unusual tribal traditions of rural Togo during visits to its local villages, and an authentic voodoo ceremony in Sanguera.

Depart the pier for the brief drive to Lome, and drive-by of Independence Square. From here, your drive will continue on to rural Togo for a visit to a typical village and a bush school. Here, you will learn about the local lifestyle and trends in formal education.

Next, a photo stop is made at the foot of Mount Agou, the highest mountain in Togo, before visiting an Ewe village. The Ewe, once amongst the most important tribal groups in Togo, still perpetuate their ancestral practices. Upon arrival, you will be welcomed by royalty and have the privilege of witnessing the popular Akpesse folkdance in his majesty's presence.

Following your visit, you will proceed to the Cristal Hotel in Kpalime for a buffet lunch in the hotel's restaurant. After lunch, you will re-board your coach for the drive to the village of Sanguera. The chief priest will greet your arrival, and offer you a refreshing libation. Once you are seated, you will be briefed on the traditional voodoo ceremony and watch it unfold. This is a true voodoo ceremony, not a show; the events are unpredictable, so the tour content and duration might differ.

At the conclusion of the voodoo ceremony, you will re-board your coach for the 1-hour return drive to the ship.
