Malé, the capital of the Republic of Maldives, is located at the southern edge of North Male' Atoll Kaafu Atoll. Traditionally, Male was the “King’s Island,” from where the ancient Maldive Royal families had their palace and ruled the country. The Royal Palace, also called “Gan'duvaru,” was destroyed along with the picturesque forts and bastions when the city was reconstructed under President Ibrahim Nasir's rule and the abolition of the monarchy.

Depart the pier via local dhoni for the drive to your awaiting submarine. Since ninety-nine percent of the Maldives consists of water, the country's most exotic creatures live underwater in colorful aquamarine gardens. As a result, the Maldives have been long renowned as a diver's paradise.

You will have an opportunity to observe life beneath the Maldives without getting wet on a state-of-the-art passenger submarine. After embarking the submarine, you will descend to 120 feet below sea level, and take in panoramic up-close views of the colorful coral, fish and marine life.
