Bridgetown
The island of Barbados is rimmed by beaches. The eastern edge, rugged and hilly, lies on the Atlantic Ocean. The west coast is washed by the calmer leeward sea and has most of the resort hotels. It is on this side that you will find the capital, Bridgetown, and the older settlement towns. Barbados has seaside villages and English country churches that date from the 17th century.
The following Shore Excursions are available for this port on this cruise, and may be reserved beginning 180 days before the cruise begins.

Discover the unique natural beauty and green monkeys of Barbados during this off-road safari to the Barbados Wildlife Reserve.
Depart the pier for the drive along the east coast of Barbados en route to the Scotland District, one of the most beautiful locations in Barbados and the only location in the entire Caribbean where this mountain range is above water. The Scotland District is home to unusual rock formations stemming from ancient coral reefs, and a pristine 9-mile beach with whirlpools of foaming surf.
Next, you will proceed into the Barbadian interior en route to the Barbados Wildlife Reserve. Hidden in the countryside and away from the normal tourist areas, the reserve is home to the renowned green monkey. Inside the reserve, these monkeys are free to roam wherever they please as they go about their daily lives. Upon arrival, you will take a walking tour along the shady paths and observe the monkeys in their natural environment. A rare sight outside of West Africa, this species has saved thousands of people, as it is responsible for 70% of the world's polio vaccine.
Following your visit, you will re-board your off-road vehicle for the return drive to the pier.
Please note: As this tour involves travel over bumpy surfaces, guests with back and/or neck problems are discouraged from participating.
