Take a giant step back into Ireland's storied past during this memorable tour of scenic Dublin, and the Guinness Brewery.
Depart the pier for an orientation drive through the streets of Dublin, where Medieval, Georgian and modern architecture lend a unique cosmopolitan charm to this bustling capital city. You will see the Old Parliament House, now the Bank of Ireland, and Trinity College, founded in 1592 by Queen Elizabeth I. Continue on to the Georgian squares of Merrion and Fitzwilliam. Once home to such famous Irishmen as Daniel O'Connell, W.B. Yeats and Oscar Wilde, Merrion remains of Dublin's grandest Georgian squares, and is now the address of the National Gallery of Ireland and Leinster House, seat of the Irish Parliament. Travel to St. Stephen's Green, then Dawson Street to view The Mansion House, residence of Dublin's Lord Mayor. Next, you will pass Dublin Castle, City Hall, Christchurch Cathedral and St. Patrick's Cathedral en route to Guinness, the world's most famous brewery.
Your Guinness Brewery adventure begins with a tour of the Guinness Storehouse. As you enter the Storehouse and walk into the building's giant, pint-shaped heart of glass, you will discover the dramatic company history dating back over 250 years. During your visit, learn about the ingredients, processes and effort that go into making Guinness. Next, you will view Guinness promotional material past and present in the Advertising Gallery, and learn how the drink that carries the Guinness name has traveled the world. Your tour of the Guinness Brewery ends in Gravity, the sky bar, for a demonstration of the proper way to pour and serve Guinness, or pull the perfect pint. Then sit back and relax with a Guinness of your own, and enjoy spectacular views over Dublin. Before you leave, visit the shop in the Guinness Store for the world's greatest selection of Guinness fashions and memorabilia.
