*This program begins in Singapore and ends in Singapore. Flights home should be booked from Singapore.

Just outside Cambodia’s Siem Reap, a unique and thrilling adventure awaits you in the jungles of Angkor, where you can uncover the rich history and grand architecture of the Khmer Empire. Obscured by dense vegetation for centuries, the glorious temples of Angkor comprise one of the world’s largest religious monuments. The most famous is the enormous Angkor Wat, whose soaring walls are covered with intricate carvings. You will also pass through the imposing gates of Angkor Thom, the last capital of the Khmer Empire, to explore the renowned Bayon Temple.

    Please note:

    - There is extensive walking at the temple sites, with steps at Bayon and Angkor Wat.

    - Guests will need to bring two 4x6 photos on photo paper with them for temple pass and visa.

    - Flight schedules are subject to change and tour sequence may vary depending on traffic conditions.

    - Cambodian visa fee is included in the tour and will be applied upon arrival at Siem Reap Airport

    Day 1

Following disembarkation in Singapore, transfer to the airport for your flight to Siem Reap with a city orientation tour en route. Once you have collected your luggage, continue to your bus and depart from the airport.

In the afternoon a visit will be made to the Banteay Srey Temple Complex (the Pink Temple). This temple is commonly known as the Citadel of Women. It’s a petite temple possessing some of the most intricate carvings in the Angkor area. Although, this temple is small, the details and quality of its architecture make it an essential must-see destination.

You will also visit Banteay Samre, a large and comparatively flat temple displaying a distinctively Angkor Wat style of architecture. Also visit Srah Sran (The King’s Bath).

Back at the hotel, check-in. The evening is at leisure and dinner is on your own.

    Day 2

Enjoy breakfast at the hotel and then proceed for a visit of the city of Angkor Thom including the renowned Bayon Temple, built in the 12th century, the Terrace of the Leper King and the Elephant Terrace, a sandstone wall covered with carved hunting scenes and three-headed elephants.

Continue to visit the un-restored temple of Ta Prohm which is famous for its forest atmosphere and enormous fig trees. This temple looks just as it did when the first European explorer arrived. It is also the location of many of the scenes filmed for Angelina Jolie’s huge blockbuster movie, Tomb Raider. After lunch, you will visit the Angor Wat Temple Complex and watch the sunset (weather permitting) before transferring back to the hotel for the evening. Dinner is on your own.

    Day 3

    Expected Weather: Hot and Dry

Average mid-day temperatures can hover to upper 30s C (85-90 F), especially in inland areas like Siem Reap. It is less breezy at this time of year, the sun can be quite intense and the air becomes hazier with the rising humidity. Though sometimes quite hot, the lack of rain still leaves this good time of year to visit the temples.

    What to Bring:

On this tour the key words are comfortable and casual. Remember we are visiting a foreign country and local dress codes should be observed. Please avoid uncovered shoulders, shorts or revealing clothing. Trousers or pants covering the knees are required to be worn when visiting Angkor Wat and Bayon Temple. Although dinners are not formal, you may want to bring something a bit dressier for that time of day.

Bring a hat or a head covering for sun protection and don’t forget your suntan lotion, sunglasses and bug spray (you should have mosquito repellent for sunrise and sunset hours). It’s also a good idea to bring along a small packet of tissues or wet wipes. It is also suggested that guests wear flat comfortable walking shoes (not sandals or open toed shoes / flip flops). Guest are requested to take-off their foot wear and hats when visiting religious sites.

Guests are encouraged to bring US Dollars with them as they are most commonly accepted in Cambodia. The local currency is the Cambodian Riel and the current exchange rate is KHR$4103.02 to USD$1.00 (correct at time of writing). You may want to take smaller denominations of US Dollars with you, as they will keep you from ending up with a lot of local change that you will not be able to re-exchange back home, or on board the ship.

Rooms are equipped with 220-volt, two-pin US style electrical outlets.

Water: Avoid tap water and drinks with ice in them. Drink mineral water and drinks in sealed containers. Water at the hotels in both Bangkok and Siem Reap is potable.

Local Custom: As a matter of courtesy you are asked not to raise your voice nor must you ever show anger as this is deemed in local culture as being very ill mannered.

Luggage Weight Restrictions: 20kg (44lbs) - Light luggage would be most suited for this 3 night trip. Please note that the airlines allow a maximum of 1 checked suitcase (20 kg or 44lbs) and one small carry on. Any additional pieces will be paid to the airline at the guests’ expense. If you wish you can store excess luggage with our local ground operator in Singapore. Excess luggage will be stored in a secure location and then brought to your hotel on Day 3. Please ensure that all bags are tagged properly and visibly with your full name and suite number on the ship.

Two 4x6 sized photos should be brought with you. One for visa formalities upon arrival and one for your temple pass. Photos are generally taken electronically for the Temple Passes, however, having a backup is always a good idea.

Guests must carry a valid passport with at least 6 months validity and have spare pages for the Cambodian Visa. Visas will be issued on arrival. As mentioned above, two 4x6 sized photographs will be required.
