This full-day tour allows you to discover the wonderful natural attraction of Geirangerfjord and the incredible scenery to be found in this area of Norway.

The Geirangerfjord is no doubt one of the most beautiful fjords in Norway. Towering, steep mountainsides and numerous waterfalls all combine to create the unique scenery that would be hard to find anywhere else in the world.

At the head of this 9-mile long fjord lays the little village of Geiranger where your excursion commences. You will begin by heading up the many hairpin bends to the viewpoint named Eagle's Bend. From this wonderful vantage point there is a fantastic view of the mountain world that surrounds you as well as the fjord deep down below. Thereafter, your coach descends to fjord level once more and returns to Geiranger before starting uphill again, passing two of the town's modern, comfortable hotels as well as the little wooden octagonal church.

Your next stop will be at Flydal gorge. The view down towards the fjord is simply superb and the cruise ships look like toy boats from this height. Continuing on, you'll make your way towards Djupvass chalet situated at some 3100 feet above sea level and then make a detour up to the summit of Mount Dalsnibba, from where there is an unbelievable view on clear days. Retracing your path to Djupvass, your drive continues further along Djupvatn Lake, which is usually covered by ice and snow until end of June. Linking up with the new Stryne-Road, kept open year-round, you will follow that to Grotli where a stop is made for lunch.

After a relaxing lunch and a chance to stretch your legs, your tour resumes in a westerly direction to the Tystigen summer ski-center for your next stop. With a bit of luck and snow conditions permitting, you may be able to see skiers as they come zooming down the mountainside. Continue down the hairpin bends of the Stryn-Road to Stryn Lake, known for its wonderful turquoise color. Another photo stop is made before making your way into Stryn, the administrative center of the inner part of the Nordfjord, driving along the Stryn Salmon River the last part of the way. Following the shores of the Nordfjord, you will next cross a wooded hill down to Hornindal Lake, the deepest freshwater lake in Europe which is known for its abundance of fish.

The last leg of your journey navigates uphill, crossing the border between the County Sogn & Fjordane and Møre & Romsdal county. Enjoy the scenery of a mountain valley with many attractive chalets as you make your way down to the village of Hellesylt, situated at the head of the Synnulvsfjord. It was here that the author Henrik Ibsen was inspired to write one of his best-known plays. As your tour comes to an end, you'll pass a lovely waterfall and the local dairy, where they produce the Norwegian type of goat cheese. Arriving at the pier, you will find your ship has also made the journey to Hellesylt and lies at anchor awaiting your return.

Please note: This tour is considered panoramic and encompasses approximately 5 hours of travel on a coach. The tour is available to wheelchair guests who have a collapsible wheelchair, can make their own way on and off the coach and have an able-bodied companion to assist them. Those with mobility concerns are cautioned to carefully evaluate their personal level of stamina and ability. Casual, weather appropriate clothing which should include a sweater or jacket, and flat, comfortable shoes are suggested. The order of sites visited may vary.
