Experience the thrill of a lifetime driving in 4X4 vehicles over towering soft sand-dunes on this adventure tour. Leaving the pier behind, you'll travel into the desert and enjoy breath-taking climbs up the face of the dunes, followed by stomach-dropping descents as you engage in what is referred to as dune bashing. As your skilled driver negotiates a course through the desert, you'll be treated to spectacular panoramic views of this magnificent vast landscape of golden sands.
After approximately one hour of exhilarating excitement crisscrossing the desert terrain, you'll stop for a break at a comfortable Bedouin style campsite. Soft drinks, Arabic coffee and an assortment of delicious dates and nuts will be provided for your enjoyment. During your break, you may also seize the once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to take a ride on one of the resident camels.
Following your break, you'll rejoin your vehicle for the trek back to the port.
Please note: The sites on this tour are not wheelchair accessible and therefore, it is not considered suitable for wheelchair guests. This excursion will encounter rough and bumpy surfaces and is not available to those guests with heart or back problems or pregnant women and is not recommended for those who suffer from motion sickness. Those with mobility concerns are cautioned to evaluate their personal level of ability and stamina as there is some walking over sand dunes. Lightweight cotton clothing is recommended and flat, closed-toe shoes are required. Due to the adventurous nature of this excursion, guests may be asked to sign a waiver indemnifying the tour operator and RSSC of any claims from accident or injuries sustained during the Desert Safari. The campsite is equipped with restroom facilities and running water.
