Bangkok (Laem Chabang), Thailand-port

Bangkok is the capital and largest city in Thailand. It began as a small trading center on the west bank of the Chao Phraya River serving the Ayutthaya Kingdom, the precursor of modern Thailand which existed from 1350 to 1767. The city has vastly modernized and undergone numerous changes, including the introduction of transportation and utility infrastructure in the reigns of King Mongkut and King Chulalongkorn, and quickly developed into the economic centre of Thailand.

Bangkok On Your Own

Light Activity

Duration: 9 hours

Tour Code: LCH-008

This full-day self-guided tour is ideal for guests who have visited Bangkok before, or feel independent enough to explore it without the assistance of a local guide.

Depart the pier for the 2-hour drive through a tropical countryside of tapioca fields, rice paddies, coconut palms, and small rural towns to a centrally-located area in Bangkok. In Bangkok, enjoy approximately 5 hours of free time for sightseeing and shopping. En route, your guide will provide you with a map and orientation of the area. Upon arrival at the scheduled drop-off point, you will begin your walking tour of Bangkok.

Following your full-day visit to Bangkok, you will return to the pre-designated pick-up point and then re-board your coach for the return drive to the pier.

Please note: The drive between the pier and Bangkok is approximately 2 hours in each direction. This tour will depart from and return to the ship in Laem Chabang.
