Discover Santorini’s bewitching beauty and exquisite vineyards and enjoy a tour and lunch at a winery owned by a family recognized as the “Mondavis of Greece” on this captivating tour. You’ll explore Santorini with a local expert and tour guide, beginning your day in enchanting Oia, a quaint village once home to wealthy seafarers that is built on the dramatically steep slope of a now-submerged caldera formed in a volcanic eruption around 3,500 years ago. Appreciate tips from your sommelier guide for sites to explore or perhaps shop for handmade ceramics, paintings and semi-precious jewelry. Across the island, you’ll find the pretty hamlet of Megalochori, home of the renowned Boutari Winery. Learn that its founder, Yiannis Boutari, is a Greek vintner whose influence on the country’s wine industry has been compared by Wine Spectator to that of the late Robert Mondavi’s imprint on Napa Valley. After a guided tour, you’ll sample a selection of their award-winning wines and enjoy a sumptuous luncheon featuring local specialties.
