Experience the ancient beauty of Rhodes during this scenic tour of Lindos, and a visit to the Acropolis.
Depart the pier for the drive along the east coast of Rhodes, and past some of the island's most beautiful beaches. You will also pass through several small villages before arriving at Lindos, one of the three ancient cities on the island of Rhodes. Lindos is among the island's most famous villages, and is renowned for its famous Acropolis. At a height of 535 feet, the Acropolis offers breathtaking views and photo opportunities of the entire village, including its Medieval castle, superb sandy beaches and charming white-washed, sugar-cubed houses.
During your visit, you will take a walking tour through the labyrinth of narrow cobbled streets, and past the colorful courtyards and mosaics for which Lindos is famous. Ancient Lindos was the most important town on the island, and has been inhabited for 5,000 years. After your guided tour of the Acropolis, you will walk down to the village of Lindos for a visit to the Byzantine Church of the Ascension, followed by some free time to explore the area at your leisure. Following your visit, you will re-board your coach for the return drive to the pier.
Please note: This tour involves extensive walking uphill, and on cobblestone streets. The walk up to the Acropolis in Lindos is on a long, narrow path measuring approximately 950 feet. Guests are encouraged to wear comfortable walking shoes.
