Puerto Chacabuco, Chile-port

There is an old Chilean proverb that states, “If you are in a hurry in Patagonia, you are wasting your time.” In Puerto Chacabuco, a Chilean town in the Aysen commune, time passes at the leisurely pace of nature’s cycles. The gorgeously landscaped town is a small, isolated settlement situated along the wild-west fjordland coast. Patagonian ice sheets fall into the sea and the area provides a chance to view Black Necked Swans and the endangered Giant Condor.

The wild and beautiful Aysen District of Chile lies south of Chiloe and Puerto Montt. Tour will provide a glimpse of the impressive landscape in this wet & windy region that makes up a part of the Chilean Patagonia. Upon arrival at Puerto Chacabuco, enjoy a scenic drive through an outstandingly beautiful road up to the recently inaugurated Aiken del Sur Private Park. This expedition combines bewilderment, adventure, and connection with the virgin forests of Patagonia. See unlimited natural beauty at the Aiken del Sur Private Park, such as the banks of the placid, transparent blue waters of Riesco Lake, covering an area of 14 square kilometers. At the park visit the information center, where an introduction to the whole area is provided. Then take the opportunity to see a display of the most outstanding trees indigenous of this area. Proceed to the Quincho (Traditional Area) for some refreshments accompanied with live music before returning to the ship.
