Embrace Samoa's visual splendor during this picturesque, full-day sightseeing tour of East Upolu.
Depart the pier for the scenic drive past the lush green forests, waterfalls, plantations and traditional Samoan villages along the northeast coast of Upolu. En route, a photo stop will be made to take in the picturesque beauty of Falefa Falls. At Le Mafa Pass, located 1,700 feet above sea level, you will marvel at the breathtaking views of the eastern and southern shores of Upolu.
A barbecue lunch will be served upon arrival at Tafatafa Beach, with cultural entertainment provided by the renowned Aggie Grey Dance Troupe. After lunch, you will have an opportunity to go swimming and snorkeling (bring your own gear).
Next, you will rejoin your coach and take in splendid views of the rainforest, plantations and mountains as you drive along Upolu's southwest coast. A photo stop will be made at the Sopo'aga Falls, which cascade into an old volcanic crater. A visit will then be made to the Sopo'aga Botanical Garden. Here, you will find a variety of ethnic plants, learn about their medicinal qualities and view a cooking demonstration using a ground oven, or umu. Following your visit, you will rejoin your coach for the return drive to the pier.
Please note: Due to limited availability, some vehicles may not be air-conditioned. This tour involves walking over flat, uneven ground. Wear comfortable clothing and walking shoes, and bring sunscreen, insect repellent, a hat and sunglasses from the ship. Although the beach visit includes outside showers, no changing facilities are available; guests may change in the restrooms.
