Set sail for two hours around the beautiful Whitsunday Islands onboard the sailing catamaran On the Edge while savoring a cup of tea accompanied by tasty scones and cakes. Pick up sailing tips from the expert crew or just lay back and relax.
Boarding the ship's tender, you will be transported to Hamilton Island, to join your sailing vessel. One of the finest ways to fully appreciate the magnificence of the Whitsundays Islands is from the sea. As you travel through pristine waters dotted with lush green islands, relax on deck and take in the fresh breeze and the many scenic spots along the way, such as the Henning Islands, Plum Pudding Island and Catseye Beach; the weather will determine the vessel's sailing route.
While you enjoy the spectacular natural beauty of the Islands, you may partake of the light tea and biscuits being served. Concluding this memorable tour is an invigorating return to Hamilton Island, where you will re-board your tender for the trip back to the ship.

Your tour begins by boarding a luxury catamaran that awaits near your ship. Traveling to the Outer Reef, you will drop anchor and transfer to the pontoon which is designated for your exclusive use. Here, an underwater world of exquisite beauty, in the world's richest marine habitat, is waiting for you to discover.
During your approximately 2 hour transfer, as you make your way to the pontoon, morning tea and coffee will be served for your enjoyment.
Once at the pontoon, you can choose from several activities included in your package. Step aboard a semi-submersible ride for breathtaking views of colorful fish and intricate coral reef gardens. The inviting aquamarine waters are sure to provide a tempting attraction for those wishing to swim with a mask (snorkel and snorkeling equipment is provided). Optional scuba diving and special escorted snorkeling tours are available at an extra charge, as well as an assortment of souvenirs. Your pontoon conveniently offers an underwater viewing chamber so that you may view the beautiful coral and the magnificent array of fish without getting wet.
While you enjoy the reef, a buffet style lunch will be set for you to enjoy. Soft drinks as well as Australian wine and beer will be available for purchase.
Following approximately 2 1/2 to 3 hours at the pontoon, your catamaran will make the 2 hour return journey back to the ship.

Leaving the ship, you will be tendered to Hamilton Island where you will board the magnificent Denison Star, a 107-foot Huon pine motor cruiser. Steeped in tradition, the Denison Star has been luxuriously re-appointed and re-designed with a fully air-conditioned lower deck and an outside area on the upper deck that is shaded by a canopy. Originally built in Hobart, Tasmania during 1967/1968, the Denison Star is the largest Huon pine vessel to be built in Australia. An Australian icon in timber boats, the Denison Star now combines traditional style cruising with modern day comfort that is exclusively yours to enjoy.
Departing from Hamilton Island, your 2 hour cruise will cross the Whitsunday Passage, passing a number of resorts and landmarks along the way. During the course of your tour, you will be provided interesting commentary regarding the history of the Whitsundays Islands while being treated to tea and muffins onboard.
At the conclusion of your tour, you will disembark the Denison Star at Hamilton Island and return to your ship via tender.

Traveling by tender to Hamilton Island, you will board a luxury high-speed catamaran for a relaxing cruise and commentary as you travel through the Whitsunday Islands. The islands are mostly protected and preserved as one of Australia's National Parks.
After approximately 1-hour of sailing, your catamaran will arrive at Whitehaven Beach, where you will anchor a short distance off the beach. From here, a tender will take you ashore for approximately 2 1/2 hours of free time to sunbathe, swim or explore the National Park bushland that fringes this pristine beach. Considered to be among the top 10 beaches in the world, Whitehaven Beach is around 3 1/2 miles of 95% pure white silica sand. Being a National Park, you will find this beach to be free of high rise buildings, shops, facilities and typical beachside vendors. Best suited for those who wish to dispense with the usual resort style beach offerings, this amazing, unspoiled paradise offers an incredible vista of crystal clear waters and dazzling white sand. Whether you choose to stroll along the paths, swim, or simply lay back and enjoy a book, you will undoubtedly relish your time here.

Following your time at Whitehaven Beach, the catamaran will return to Hamilton Island where you will board your tender back to the ship.

Consumption of alcohol before or during water activities is not recommended. Those who participate in water activities do so at their own risk and responsibility and must know how to swim, be comfortable in the water and able to cope with occasional currents. We suggest you wear your swimsuit under clothes, bring a towel from the ship and use suitable sun protection. There are no facilities on the island other than environmentally friendly toilets, and the tender will be on standby for any guests wishing to return to the catamaran. There is some limited shade along the bush fronting the beach and no beach chairs. The use of the island is not exclusive to our guests. This tour is designated as non-smoking.
