Land Programs & Hotels

  • Experience the magic of Spain this holiday season on a journey that blends vibrant city life, breathtaking architecture, and authentic Catalan traditions. Begin your adventure in Barcelona, where iconic landmarks and festive Christmas markets set the scene for unforgettable discoveries. Stroll through the enchanting lanes of the Gothic Quarter, indulge in seasonal treats, and explore the artistic wonders of Montjuïc and the Spanish Village. Also enjoy a day trip to Girona, immersing yourself in the region’s rich history and lively holiday fairs as well as a visit to Cavas Freixenet in the heart of the Penedès region for a sampling of their delicious cava. This program promises the perfect blend of cultural highlights, festive spirit, and local flavors—making it an ideal escape for those looking to celebrate the season in style.

    Day 1 – December 4, 2026

Upon arriving at the El Prat International Airport in Barcelona, you will be met in the Arrivals Hall which is outside the luggage claim area. Please look for our local representative holding a sign with the cruise line logo. Transfer by private vehicle to your hotel.

Check in is 3:00pm. Your hotel is located in the Eixample district of Barcelona, just a 10-minute walk to Las Ramblas. Passeig de Gràcia, the city’s nicest shopping street, is easily reached on foot. Emblematic buildings and sights such as Casa Batlló, Casa Milà (La Pedrera), La Sagrada Familia and the Picasso Museum are nearby.

Note: A private van or SUV will be used to transfer couples or parties of two while solo travelers will transfer by private sedan. Vans hold a maximum of four pieces or large luggage and two carry on pieces per person and sedans hold a maximum of two large suitcases and a carry-on. Transfers are with driver only.

    Day 2 – December 5, 2026

After breakfast, meet your knowledgeable local guide in the hotel lobby and depart for the magnificent—though famously unfinished—Sagrada Familia.

Take in your guide’s fascinating insights as you marvel at Gaudí’s architectural masterpiece from the outside, then delight in wandering through a charming Christmas market nearby.

Your adventure continues with a stroll through the enchanting lanes of the Gothic Quarter, where a guided walking tour reveals centuries-old secrets. Marvel at grand highlights like the soaring Cathedral and the historic City Hall. As you soak in the atmosphere, pause for an authentic winter indulgence: a delicious churros and chocolate tasting, a beloved local treat that perfectly captures the season’s magic. Note: the churros and chocolate tasting will be taken “to go”.

Savor free time to lose yourself in the legendary Santa Llúcia Christmas Market—Barcelona’s oldest and most iconic holiday fair. Meander amid stalls overflowing with handmade ornaments, intricate nativity scenes, and festive trinkets, soaking up the city’s joyful Christmas spirit.

Next, relax aboard your coach as you ascend to Montjuïc, where a cozy winter lunch at a local restaurant awaits—providing a delicious taste of Catalonia’s seasonal flavors.

The day concludes with a guided exploration of the enchanting Spanish Village, where open-air streets showcase architectural styles from every corner of Spain. Revel in free time to browse artisan workshops and seasonal exhibits at your own pace, fully embracing Barcelona’s festive ambiance before returning to your hotel for an evening of leisure.

After an unforgettable day, return to your hotel to relax and unwind—Barcelona’s holiday magic still lingering in the air. Dinner is on your own.

    Day 3 – December 6, 2026

Start your morning with a delightful breakfast before meeting your expert guide in the hotel lobby for a scenic drive to Girona, the vibrant heart of Northern Catalonia. This enchanting city is a treasure trove of museums, art galleries, and soaring Gothic churches, all woven together by labyrinthine cobbled streets and ancient medieval walls. The shimmering Riu Onyar splits Girona’s historic core from its modern commercial side, reflecting the city’s elegant Modernist mansions on its tranquil surface.

Once you arrive, embark on an immersive walking tour led by your guide through Girona’s storied city center. Step inside the ancient Arab Baths—dating back to 1194 AD—for a fascinating glimpse into the past. Along the way, you’ll discover poignant remnants of the city’s historic Jewish community, with your guide illuminating the hidden stories and enduring legacies scattered throughout the old quarter.

After your guided tour, savor some free time to explore Girona at your leisure. Sample local cuisine for lunch and wander the lively Christmas fair nestled in the Old Town, where festive stalls brim with handcrafted seasonal gifts, sparkling decorations, delicious regional treats, and the warm glow of Catalan holiday traditions.

As the afternoon draws to a close, regroup with your guide for a comfortable return journey to Barcelona, carrying with you the memories of Girona’s rich history and festive charm.

    Day 4 – December 7, 20256

Following breakfast at the hotel and check out, you will travel to Colonia Güell, another one of Gaudí’s unfinished works. Like La Sagrada Familia, this church is a UNESCO World Heritage site. Businessman Eusebio Güell commissioned Gaudí to build it for his textile factory workers in the village of Santa Coloma de Cervelló. The church is particularly noteworthy because the famed architect introduced advanced technology on it that he fine-tuned in later projects.

In time, you will travel to Cavas Freixenet in the heart of the Penedès region, a region well-known in Roman times for producing quality wines. There, you will tour the cellars, learn about the production of its sparkling cava wine, and enjoy enjoy a festive lunch accompanied by a glass of delicious cava.

Afterwards, you will return to Barcelona and the port for embarkation.

Tivoli or Tibur in antiquity came under Roman control in the 4C BC and it was there that a Sibyl prophesied the coming of Jesus Christ to the Emperor Augustus.

Visit Villa D’Este, masterpiece of the Italian Garden, and included in the UNESCO world heritage list. With its impressive concentration of fountains, nymphs, grottoes, plays of water, and music, it constitutes a much-copied model for European gardens in the mannerist and baroque styles.

After the visit, enjoy some free time to wonder through the colorful open-air market selling all sorts of souvenirs, fruits and local products, then enjoy lunch in a beautiful restaurant overlooking another one of Tivoli’s sights, the beautiful Villa Gregoriana. Drive back to the hotel.
