Casablanca is Morocco’s largest city and industrial center. Its renaissance came with the French protectorate under its first resident general, Lyautey. It was largely his ideas on public works and the layout of the new city which gave Casablanca its wide boulevards, public parks and fountains, and imposing Moresque civic buildings.

  • Panoramic Casablanca

Take in the marquee attractions of irrepressible Casablanca, a flourishing city of modern architecture, grand colonial structures and affluent neighborhoods overlooking the sea on this panoramic tour.

Explore in the complete comfort of your air-conditioned motor coach which will transport you from the pier through the bustling streets of Casablanca, Morocco's largest city. This tour provides an excellent introduction to the metropolis, which has become the country's economic and cultural hub. Over the centuries, Casablanca has been conquered, destroyed, rebuilt, abandoned after a 1755 earthquake, and rebuilt again to rise phoenix-like and become a modern wonder.

Driving along the city's wide avenues, past towering skyscrapers, you will notice that the residents have an affinity for Western dress and that businesses project a contemporary image. In many ways, Casablanca represents the new, more affluent Morocco. One of the finest examples of Casablanca's tremendous wealth is the Hassan II Mosque, which was built in 1993 almost entirely with local materials. It can accommodate 25,000 worshippers.

Following a photo stop here, you will merge onto the Corniche coastal road, following it to the elevated residential district of Anfa, which when translated means "hill." Long before Casablanca was developed, there were only white houses here facing the sea, giving rise to the city's name, "white house." You will also enjoy a close look at Mohamed V Square in the center of downtown. The popular gathering place is surrounded by beautiful municipal buildings, such as the city hall and courthouse. Afterwards, you will drive back to the pier.

Please note: This tour is panoramic in nature with very limited optional walking at the photo stops. The tour is available to wheelchair guests who have a collapsible wheelchair, are able to make their own way on and off the coach and have an able-bodied companion to assist them. Those guests with mobility concerns are cautioned only to participate to the extent of their personal stamina and ability. Weather appropriate clothing; sunglasses; and flat, comfortable shoes are recommended.
