Be sure to catch the once-daily changing of the guard, then tour the public areas at the Palais du Prince, home to the royal family, whose most famous resident was famous actress Grace Kelly.

As shore excursions to be offered in this port are not yet confirmed, below is a list of those offered previously. We make every effort to have excursions finalized at least 240 days in advance of sailing, and often sooner, so please check back regularly.

  • Saint-Paul-de-Vence and St. Jeannet Wines

Walk the enchanting streets of hilltop Saint-Paul-de-Vence, admiring the views and medieval ambiance, and then enjoy a sampling of wines produced in an ancient, highly unusual way.

After departing from the pier, you will drive inland, slowly ascending into more mountainous terrain. In time, you will spot the village of Saint-Paul-de-Vence atop a spur of land between two deep valleys, where it has perched since medieval times. It’s easy to imagine the village back then, as its 13th-century ramparts are still intact.

Entering through the village’s main gate, you will then wander the winding pedestrian-only streets and alleyways of Saint-Paul-de-Vence, one of the oldest medieval villages on the French Rivera. You can expect to pass lovely churches, shaded squares and fortified towers.

You may even see the French game of pétanque or lawn bowling being played beneath a plane tree. The setting has long inspired artists, especially in the 1920s when Signac, Modigliani and Bonnard painted here.

Following free time, during which you might browse the shops or enjoy lunch on your own, you will continue on to the outskirts of Saint Jeannet. Here, you will find Domaine des Hautes Collines, a family-owned winery that produces premium wines that are aged in glass urns exposed to direct sunlight.

It’s an unusual maturation process that stabilizes the wines and lends them distinctive tastes, as you will discover by sampling several vintages. Be sure to notice the wine bottle labels; the designs are reproductions of original paintings by one of the owners.
