Regent Seven Seas Cruises is offering voyages to Cuba that comply with OFAC regulations for group people-to-people exchanges. However, all of the extraordinary elements of a Regent Seven Seas Cruises experience is included, where your every wish, your every whim and your every want are met with gratifying luxuries, satisfying comfort and complete fulfillment of your wanderlust. Anticipate an unforgettable journey to the one of the world's most sought after destinations.
This general license authorizes persons subject to U.S. jurisdiction to engage in certain educational exchanges in Cuba under the auspices of an organization that is a person subject to U.S. jurisdiction and sponsors such exchanges to promote people-to-people contact. Guests using this general license must ensure they maintain a full-time schedule of educational exchange activities intended to enhance contact with the Cuban people and that will result in meaningful interaction between the passenger and individuals in Cuba.
Guests who booked their voyage before June 16, 2017 may choose to still engage in individual people-to-people travel or group people-to-people travel through Regent Seven Seas Cruises.
Guests who booked their voyage on or after June 16, 2017 can travel to Cuba under the group people-to-people general license and participate in OFAC-compliant people-to-people exchanges through Regent Seven Seas Cruises accompanied by a U.S. individual of the sponsoring organization to ensure a full-time schedule of educational exchange activities intended to enhance contact with the Cuban people and that will result in meaningful interaction between the passenger and individuals in Cuba.
Effective November 9, 2017, individual people-to-people exchanges are no longer authorized by OFAC. However, guests who booked their voyage before June 16, 2017 may choose to still engage in individual people-to-people travel or group people-to-people travel. We also refer you to FAQ “What if I booked my voyage before June 16, 2017?” above.
Yes. OFAC regulates travel to Cuba pursuant to the Helms-Burton Act and other pertinent regulations. Currently, there are 12 categories of authorized travel to Cuba.
Effective November 9, 2017, individual people-to-people exchanges are no longer authorized by OFAC. However, guests who booked their voyage before June 16, 2017 may choose to still engage in individual people-to-people travel or group people-to-people travel sponsored by Regent Seven Seas Cruises. Group people-to-people travel is one of the ways for Americans to visit Cuba and gives you an opportunity to discover Cuba through its people and from a local perspective. All guests will be required to certify that their activities meet the requirements above, so you must retain records of your activities whether or not they are offered by Regent Seven Seas Cruises for a period of 5 years. For additional information on group people-to-people exchanges, please refer to FAQ “What is a group people-to-people exchange?” above.
The following link to the FAQs from the U.S. Department of the Treasury covers many of the questions directly related to regulations regarding travel to Cuba.
Yes. A valid passport is required for all guests to travel to Cuba. We recommend guests review the passport requirements of travel to Cuba from their home country and that the expiration of your passport be greater than six months from the date of your voyage.
All guests must complete a certification form which sets forth and confirms that they will be participating in OFAC compliant activities. Please click on the following link for the certification form. A completed certification form for each guest may be sent by email to email@example.com or turned in at the time of embarkation. Please be advised that guests will not be able to board the vessel without having first completed this form.
All guests will be certifying which means that they are solely responsible for arranging a full-time schedule of OFAC-compliant activities, as explained above. These activities may include excursions provided by Regent Seven Seas Cruises.
All of the Visa and Health requirements for Cuba is sent via an email communication directly to the guest once a reservation is booked. The OFAC travel affidavit form is included as part of this communication.
All travelers to Cuba must be able to prove that their trip was comprised of OFAC-compliant activities. Guests should keep a log of their activities and keep the log for 5 years. Guests may also request that Regent Seven Seas Cruises keep a record of their itinerary and shore excursion activity if Regent Seven Seas Cruises is the U.S. sponsoring organization providing any group people-to-people exchanges to the guest.
Yes. As with travelers from the United States, non-U.S. guests will need to certify that they are traveling under one of the approved OFAC categories, keep records of their activities and sign affidavits confirming they are doing so.
The Cuban government requires anyone who is traveling to Cuba on a passport other than a valid Cuban passport to obtain a visa prior to their arrival into Cuba. For all visitors who were not born in Cuba, this visa, also known as a "tourist card" (for U.S. residents, this visa also known as a “rosada” must have a pink and blue background; for non-U.S. residents, this visa is issued by the Cuban embassy or consulate in the background color applicable to their country of residency), is required to enter Cuba for non-business purposes. The Cuban visa is valid for a single entry and allows the holder to stay in Cuba for 30 days. U.S. residents may obtain this visa (or “rosada”) through Regent Seven Seas Cruises for a separate processing and procurement fee of $75 or on your own. For non-U.S. residents, if the Cuban visa issued by the Cuban embassy or consulate in the background color applicable to your country of residency is not accepted by Cuban immigration officials, you will be required to purchase the same Cuban visa (or “rosada”) as a U.S. resident. Please note that you will not be allowed to board the vessel without proof of acquiring a Cuban visa.
The Cuban visa is a two-part card. Cuban immigration officials will take both parts upon arrival in Cuba.
For information on requirements for persons born in Cuba, please refer to FAQ “Requirements for Travelers Born in Cuba” below.

Using a Cuban passport for this purpose does not jeopardize one's U.S. citizenship; however, such persons must use their U.S. passports to enter and depart the United States. Citizens of countries other than the United States should check with their embassies in Cuba for regulations pertaining to their citizenship and use of passports.
There are both U.S. and Cuba import regulations that travelers must comply with when traveling and bringing items into Cuba.

Yes. Once in Cuba, the port, some hotels, banks, and CADECA bureaus (Cuban government exchange bureaus) can exchange currency (U.S. and Canadian dollars, Euros, British pounds, etc.) for a fee. Non-U.S. currencies such as Euros and Canadian dollars usually have a more favorable exchange rate than the U.S. dollar. Be sure to have proper ID (passport) on hand. Do not accept offers to exchange currency with anyone who approaches you on the street. This is particularly applicable due to the dual currency system used in Cuba.
The U.S. State Department advises that the export of CUCs is strictly prohibited, regardless of the amount.
While U.S. citizens are allowed to use debit and credit cards in Cuba, the vast majority of U.S. banks are still considering whether to allow for these transactions to take place. Thus, it is advisable to assume that all transactions in Cuba will be done using cash. We recommend that you review this website to familiarize yourself with these restrictions as some locations including hotels may be on the Cuba Restricted List.
All vessels docked in Cuba will provide Wi-Fi service; however, service may not be guaranteed at all times. Cuba has limited Wi-Fi services, although certain hotels and internet cafes may provide service for a fee.
Several carriers in the U.S. and abroad have signed roaming agreements with Cuban telecommunications firm ETECSA, which allows for voice, data and text services while in Cuba. Please check with you cellular provider for details.
U.S. persons are allowed to return with certain Cuban-origin items, including cigars and rum, for personal use only and pursuant to OFAC regulations. These items remain subject to the normal limits on duty and tax exemptions for merchandise imported as accompanied baggage and for personal use. Shore Excursions may be reserved online beginning 180 days before your cruise sails, or 240 days for guests eligible for our Concierge Amenities, at Midnight Eastern US Time. To do so, please create an account via the My Account section of our website and access the Book Excursions link for your cruise via the Booked Cruises tab. Any Regent Choice Shore Excursions reserved in advance must be paid for at time of confirmation using a major credit card.
Please note that we are continually doing everything possible to clear wait lists for our guests, and if/when space becomes available, we clear the list in the order the wait list was received. Regretfully, we have to go through a process of requesting additional space from our tour operators and this can take some time as they may have to source additional equipment and guides at their end. The wait lists are currently run approximately once per week and at that time; we send our requests to the various operators for additional space. Each sail date can have different allotments based on several factors, such as availability of guides, coaches, boats, planes, time in port, etc. Nevertheless, if and when we are able to confirm additional space, we will do so in as timely a manner as possible.
The F means Forward deck which helps in the loading of bags on the pier.
The amount of personal baggage allowed on our vessels is not limited, but airlines do have limitations so please check with your particular airline. The customary allowance per person is two checked pieces that must not exceed 107 inches (273 cm) when length, height and width measurements are combined. No single piece may exceed the three-dimensional sum of 62 inches (158 cm) and a weight of 70 lbs. (31.75 kg).
If you are celebrating a birthday, anniversary, honeymoon or other special occasion during your cruise, allow us to celebrate with you by advising us on your Guest Registration Form which may be completed in the My Account section of our website.
Please advise Regent Seven Seas Cruises of any special dietary requirements you may have 90 days prior to sailing by sending an e-mail to email@example.com. General dietary needs such as low salt or low cholesterol foods can be satisfied onboard the ship just by speaking with the dining wait staff.
Attire ranges from Casual to Formal Optional. Casual wear is appropriate for daytime onboard or ashore, and consists of resort-style outfits. Casual wear, including shorts and jeans, is not appropriate after 6:00 pm, with the exception of the final evening of the cruise. On the night prior to disembarkation, guests may need to pack their luggage early due to morning flights the next day. With this in mind on the last night of every voyage we will relax the dress code for dinner to Casual.
The recommended onboard dress in the evenings is Elegant Casual resort wear. Formal and semi-formal attire is optional on sailings of 16 nights or more. Dinner dress includes skirt, or slacks with blouse or sweater, pant suit or dress for ladies; slacks and collared shirt for gentlemen. Sport jackets are optional. Jeans, shorts, t-shirts or tennis shoes are not to be worn at dinner. Ties are not required.
As of January 1, 2016, U.S. passport holders will no longer be able to add additional visa pages to passports. Passport holders in need of additional pages will need to renew their passport prior to sailing. It is the policy of Regent Seven Seas Cruises to require passports for ALL travelers for all voyages, regardless of guests' nationality and ports of call and countries visited. You must obtain and carry a valid passport to board a Regent Seven Seas Cruises vessel. Passport Cards or a copy of a passport are not accepted. Passports must be valid for six months beyond the conclusion of your cruise. Please obtain or renew your passports early. Consult your travel professional or customs authority for documentation requirements for your cruise.
NOTE: The U.S. State Department maintains up-to-date information on travel document requirements worldwide. For more information, please visit http://travel.state.gov.
For information on obtaining or renewing a passport, visit the State Department web site Passports page. Passport instructions and application forms can also be downloaded from the Visa Central website at www.visacentral.com/rssc.
Visa requirements must be verified and obtained approximately 90 days prior to sailing. Required visas by cruise may be found at www.visacentral.com/rssc.
Blanket visas through Regent Seven Seas Cruises cover only our shore excursions, not trips that passengers decide to do by themselves. It is the passenger's responsibility to determine passport and visa requirements for their cruise itinerary. It is the guests' responsibility to ensure that they are in possession of all required visas and travel documents prior to sailing.
U.S. citizens are not required to obtain a Canadian Visa. To verify if your nationality requires a Canadian visa, please visit the following Canadian immigration website: http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/visit/visas.asp
Canadian officials will not permit guests to remain onboard while in a Canadian port without proper documentation, so you will be denied boarding if the visa is not presented at the pier at the time of your scheduled cruise departure. To learn more, please visit: http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/visit/index.asp. If you are a Non-U.S. or Non-Canadian citizen, you will be denied boarding without compensation if you do not hold the proper VISA documents.
Past Criminal Convictions
The Canadian Government is strictly enforcing entry requirements and as a result some U.S. and Canadian citizens with past criminal records or convictions may be refused entry into Canada. Almost all convictions including petty crimes and misdemeanors may render a person inadmissible to Canada, regardless of how long ago they occurred. It is recommended that persons who have been charged in the past or who have past convictions, no matter how petty or small, obtain the necessary documents before attempting to enter Canada.
To learn more about applying for these documents we strongly recommend you visit the following website for details: http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/information/applications/guides/5312ETOC.asp
Regent Seven Seas Cruises does not have control over such matters. If guest is denied entry into Canada for whatever reason no refunds will be forthcoming.
After receipt of final payment and required guest registration, cruise documents will be sent approximately 45 days prior to departure. If you are on a Regent Seven Seas Cruises air/sea program, your flight itinerary will be issued wherever possible in the form of e-tickets. Airlines have mandated that all travel agencies and cruise lines issue e-tickets on all e-ticket eligible itineraries. If passengers require a paper ticket on an e-ticket eligible itinerary, airline fees will be assessed.
