Land Programs & Hotels

  • Just outside Cambodia’s Siem Reap, a unique and thrilling adventure awaits you in the jungles of Angkor, where you can uncover the rich history and grand architecture of the Khmer Empire. Obscured by dense vegetation for centuries, the glorious temples of Angkor comprise one of the world’s largest religious monuments. The most famous is the enormous Angkor Wat, whose soaring walls are covered with intricate carvings. You will also pass through the imposing gates of Angkor Thom, the last capital of the Khmer Empire, to explore the renowned Bayon Temple.

    Please note:

-There is extensive walking over uneven ground at the temple sites - at times up to 2 km, with steps at Bayon and Angkor Wat. This tour is not suitable for guests with walking difficulty or if confined to a wheelchair. It can also be very hot and humid there.

-Cambodian visa fee is included in the tour and will be applied upon arrival at Siem Reap Airport

-Flight schedules are subject to change thus the tour sequence may vary

-Special Note: Any guests travelling with Portable Oxygen Concentrators (POC) or CPAP breathing machines should read further below for airline stipulations with regards to bringing this equipment on tour.

    DAY 1

After flying into the Singapore International Airport, you will be met outside of Customs and transferred to your hotel. Check in is at 3:00pm, and while every effort will be made to have rooms available earlier, this cannot be guaranteed. Should you have an early arrival time you may wish to book an extra night so that a room is ready upon your arrival.

You will spend the remainder of the day settling in and enjoying the amenities at your hotel or the sites of the city. Meals are on your own today.

    DAY 2

Following check out you will transfer to the Singapore International Airport. Upon arrival, proceed through check-in for your flight to Siem Reap. You will be accompanied on the flight by a representative from our local ground agency.

On arrival in Siem Reap you will be met and assisted with obtaining your Cambodian Entry Visa. You will then proceed to the Angkor Site to collect your temple passes which are required for touring. Once this has been issued, board your coach for the transfer to your hotel for check-in and lunch on your own.

NOTE: Your passport will be kept by our program operations team in order to process the visa on arrival and for exit procedures on departure day. Your passport will be safely returned to you on Day 4.

Later in the day, venture to the Angkor Wat Temple Complex – the highlight of this program. You will have approximately 2 hours to explore its archaeological treasures with your guide before returning to your hotel.

Your guide will point out the best spots for taking photos of this massive temple complex as you walk amidst the moss-peppered cobbled pathways, gaze up at the intricately carved tower tops and perhaps climb the steep and narrow temple steps that lead to wide courtyards. Lose yourself in contemplation as you catch the rays of the sun dancing off the bas relief carvings at sunset, the chatter of monkeys reverberating off the temple walls.

Return to your hotel for an evening at leisure and dinner on your own.

    DAY 3

Following breakfast, you will venture to the city of Angkor Thom including the renowned Bayon Temple built in the 12th Century, the Terrace of the Leper King and the Elephant Terrace, a sandstone wall covered with carved hunting scenes and three-headed elephants.

Continue to visit the un-restored temple of Ta Prohm which is famous for its forest atmosphere and enormous fig trees. This temple looks just as it did when the first European explorer arrived. It is also the location of many of the scenes filmed for Angelina Jolie’s huge blockbuster movie, Tomb Raider.

Lunch will be served at a local restaurant and after lunch visit Artisans d’Angkor, a school for underprivileged youth where they are taught the ancient crafts of wood and stone carving, creating lacquer ware, painting and silk weaving. Stroll through the school to watch young Cambodian artisans learning a trade and continuing age-old traditions. Many of the students’ crafts are offered for sale in the school store, ranging from beautiful silks and stunning lacquer ware to elegant stone and wood carvings. All the proceeds go towards the running of the school.

Continue to look around The Old Market (Phsar Chas) - the most popular with tourists and visitors, offering the greatest selection of souvenirs, textiles, handicrafts, statues, and curios of any of the traditional markets.

Back at the hotel, enjoy dinner and an Apsara cultural show

Overnight at the Borei Angkor Resort or similar hotel

    DAY 4

Dependent on flight departure times from Siem Reap, enjoy breakfast at the hotel before checking out and settling any incidental charges that you may have incurred. Then transfer from your hotel to Siem Reap Airport for the flight back to Singapore.

Upon arrival you will be met and assisted on to your transfer from the airport to the ship for embarkation. Any excess luggage left in Singapore will be taken directly to the ship where you will be re-united with it once on board.

    Expected Weather:

Hot and Dry. The average mid-day temperatures can hover to upper 30s C (85-90 F), especially in inland areas like Siem Reap. It is less breezy at this time of year. The sun can be quite intense and the air becomes hazier with the rising humidity. Though sometimes quite hot, the lack of rain still leaves this good time of year to visit the temples.

    What to Bring:

On this tour the key words are comfortable and casual. Remember we are visiting a foreign country and local dress codes should be observed.

*Please avoid uncovered shoulders, shorts or revealing clothing.

*Full length trousers or pants and/or skirts covering the knees are required to be worn when visiting Angkor Wat

Although dinners are not formal, you may want to bring something a bit dressier for that time of day.

Bring a hat or a head covering for sun protection and don’t forget your sunscreen, sunglasses and bug spray (you should have mosquito repellent for sunrise and sunset hours). It’s also a good idea to bring along a small packet of tissues or wet wipes. It is also suggested that guests wear flat comfortable walking shoes (not sandals or open toed shoes / flip flops). Guest are requested to take-off their foot wear and hats when visiting religious sites.

    Currency:

Guests are encouraged to bring US Dollars with them as they are most commonly accepted in Cambodia. The local currency is the Cambodian Riel. You should take smaller denominations of US Dollars with you, as they will keep you from ending up with a lot of local change that you will not be able to re-exchange back home.

    Electricity:

Rooms are equipped with 220-volt, two-pin US style electrical outlets. We recommend travelling with your own adaptor kits should you have electronic devices.

Water: Avoid tap water and drinks with ice in them. Drink mineral water and drinks in sealed containers. Water at the hotels in both Singapore and Siem Reap is potable.

    Luggage:

For a program of this length and nature, we suggest no more than one suitcase per person.

Luggage Weight Restrictions: 20kg (44lbs) - Light luggage would be most suited for this 3-night trip. Please note that the airlines allow a maximum of 1 checked suitcase (20 kg or 44lbs) and one small carry on. Any additional pieces will be in excess and fees will be paid to the airline at the guests’ expense. If you wish you can store excess luggage in Singapore at the hotel. It will be sent to the ship on Day 4. Please ensure that all excess bags are tagged properly and visibly with your full name and suite number on the ship. Pack accordingly as excess bags will be collected before you leave Singapore and you will be re-united with your luggage on day 4 on board the ship. Note that Regent Seven Seas Cruises, the hotel, nor our local ground operator are liable for any lost or missing items. We do not recommend leaving valuables behind or in checked luggage. You should keep any valuables with you in your carry-on hand bag.

Carriage of Portable Oxygen Concentrators (POC) or CPAP breathing machines on internal flights per airline regulations (subject to change as each airline has their own regulations)

    1. Guests must obtain a Doctor’s Certificate mentioning their medical condition and the need to carry this equipment with them on their flights.

    2. The certificate should have attached a picture of the equipment with its description/specifications especially with regards to the type of batteries used (lithium/dry or any other type)

    3. These documents need to be sent to the Land Program Team via Reservations at RSSC at least one month prior to travel so that our local operator can begin the notification process with the airline(s).

    4. Failure to comply with the above regulations may result in a denial of this equipment at the airport for which Regent Seven Seas Cruises nor our local ground operator be responsible for.

    Documentation:

Guests must carry a valid passport with at least 6 months validity and have spare pages for the Cambodian Visa. Visas will be issued on arrival in Siem Reap.

Guests are required to submit an electronic Singapore Arrival Card within three days prior to arrival into Singapore. They are not permitted any earlier. Please follow instructions on this website https://eservices.ica.gov.sg/sgarrivalcard/ or through the official “MyICA” mobile application. Submissions are free of charge.

VERY IMPORTANT – The name on your cruise booking, passport and any visas if required, must all be exactly the same for flight ticket purchase for this program otherwise guests may be denied travel by flight. Please ensure that all documents are identical in spelling to the names provided for your cruise reservation including first, middle and last name. Manifests generated by the cruise line must match your travel documents.

Failure to have the required documents ahead of time or incorrect names on flight tickets will result in either denial of travel or ticket re-purchase and guests will be responsible for any fees incurred.

There may also be a need to climb steps or stairs on occasion. Guests who utilize a wheelchair and those with mobility concerns are advised to check with the cruise line in advance to see if any portion of the tour program may not be considered suitable for their individual situation. • Enjoy a fascinating exploration of Singapore with a sightseeing trip on the Singapore River, admiring landmarks such as the Esplanade, Marina Bay Sands and the symbolic Merlion statue. Discover Chinatown and take walk through several districts teeming with landmarks of Singapore's colonial past. Tour Gardens by the Bay, a sprawling waterfront garden and nature park and close your experience with a memorable dinner at the 1930’s style Grand Shanghai restaurant.

NOTE: Please advise the Destination Team via Reservations or Guest Services in advance of your travel of any seafood allergies or dietary restrictions. Once in Singapore changes to the dinner menu on Day 3 may not be possible.

    DAY 1

Upon arriving at the Singapore International Airport, you will be met in the public arrivals area just outside of baggage claim and transferred to your hotel – the Fairmont Singapore or similar hotel.

Check in time is 3:00pm. Rooms may or may not be ready before this time. Guests with early arriving flights may wish to book an extra night to ensure a ready room upon your arrival.

Lunch and dinner are on your own.

    DAY 2

After breakfast, you will be met by your guide for an introductory tour to discover the multi religion and culture of Singapore.

Begin with an exploration of Waterloo Street where you will find several well-known landmarks, including the Kwan Imm Thong Hood Cho Temple, Maghain Aboth Synagogue, Sculpture Square, and Sri Krishnan Temple. The Maghain Aboth Synagogue is the oldest synagogue in Singapore and was built by the local Jewish community in 1878. Here you will experience how the locals adapt to each other’s culture and religion.

Next take a walk along Albert Street which was originally lined with two-story shop houses, and was famous for its Chinese restaurants, bars, medicine shops and food stalls. You can still see some of the old traditional retail shops within this area.

You will also see the business district that is responsible for the nation's fiscal security and drive through the historic Padang or colonial area. Have your camera ready as architecture and foliage combine to create the perfect backdrop for you to capture the landmarks of Singapore's colonial past.

Continue with a visit to Chinatown where you will walk through its alleyways and visit the Chinatown Heritage Centre. Housed within 3 traditional shop houses, each level of the Heritage Centre takes you to a different period in the history of Chinatown, and allows you to trace the lives of its early occupants. The hard life of the migrants resulted in many of them seeking solace in the four evils: opium smoking, prostitution, gambling and secret societies.

For lunch the group will dine at a local Chinese seafood restaurant – perhaps you will try the famous Singapore Chili Crab!

After lunch board a colourful riverboat and enjoy a 30-minute ride down the Singapore River. In Raffles’ days, the riverboats carried goods. Today, they are a popular way to experience a kaleidoscope of historic river and harbor images, including the “godown” warehouses, the shophouses, the six bridges built by the British and the gracious buildings of the old waterfront set against the towering skyline of the new business district.

The day wraps up with a visit to Arab Street, the old center of the Malay community. Today, Arab Street is abundant with glittery and lavish fashion items that include the finest lace, sparkling semi-precious stones, ostrich feathers, iron-on diamantes, gold thread, wholesales bales of silk and organza with dazzling rainbow hues and intensities. Traditional rattan is also sold in little India’s street shops, and the beautiful gold-domed Sultan Mosque is located here.

After this comprehensive and enlightening tour of the city, you will return to your hotel to enjoy the remainder of the afternoon at your own leisure or you may choose to stay in the city and make your own way back to your hotel. Dinner is on your own today.

    DAY 3

After breakfast at your hotel you will be met by your guide for your tour to “Gardens by the Bay”. These Gardens capture the essence of Singapore as the premier tropical Garden City with the perfect environment in which to love and work – making Singapore a leading global city of the 21st century.

Underlying the concept of Gardens by the Bay are the principles of environmental sustainability. Comprising two glass biomes, the Conservatories replicate the cool-dry climate of the Mediterranean and semi-arid sub-tropical regions and the cool-moist climate of the Tropical Montane region.

They house a diverse collection of plants that are not commonly seen in this part of the world and are of high conservation value. The conservatories are a statement in sustainable engineering and apply a suite of cutting-edge technologies for energy-efficient solutions in cooling.

Visit the Cloud Forest, a mysterious world veiled in mist. A 35-metre tall mountain covered in lush vegetation shrouding the world’s tallest indoor waterfall showcases plant life from tropical highlands up to 2,000-meters above sea level.

Next, step into the Flower Dome and you will marvel in awe of nature as well as the spectacular and innovative designs. The Flower Dome replicates the cool-dry climate of Mediterranean regions.

You may wish to stroll along the Skyway and take in a view of the Gardens from above. (there is a separate fee to walk along the Skyway)

Truly a spectacular and colorful national icon, Gardens by the Bay will capture the imagination of everyone who visits.

Next, visit the top of the iconic Marina Bay Sands Hotel – SkyPark Observation Deck. At 57 stories above ground you will have a bird’s eye view of the stunning Marina Bay, Singapore’s world class city-scape, the architectural wonders of Supertree Grove and the bustling shipping lanes that have built Singapore’s rich history and economy.

After this tour, you will return to your hotel to enjoy the rest of the afternoon at leisure. Lunch is on your own.

In the evening you will meet with your guide once again and transfer to the Grand Shanghai for a dinner that is sure to be a feast for the senses.

In the midst of a contemporary "East meets West" interior setting, Grand Shanghai invites you to immerse yourself in a lively atmosphere with Iconic art-deco motifs, elegant chandeliers and modern oriental designs.

Singapore is known for its hot and humid weather, with little variation throughout the year. The average daytime temperature is 31ºC (88ºF), dropping to around 24ºC (75ºF) in the evenings. The monsoon season can bear down pretty heavily on our tropical weather from November onwards, so be prepared for rain on a daily basis during this period.

    What to Bring:

When packing, keep in mind that you will be in the tropics. Light, cool, and casual clothing is recommended all year round. For more formal occasions, men should wear jackets, ties, or long-sleeved batik shirts whereas women should wear dresses.

    Local Currency:

The currency used in Singapore is the Singapore dollar (S$). Money changing services can be found not only at the Singapore Changi Airport but also at most shopping centers and hotels around the island. You can also access the automated teller machines (ATMs) located everywhere (even in the most obscure bits) in Singapore, that accept most of the main credit cards such as Visa, MasterCard and American Express.

    Electricity

Singapore's electricity voltage is 220-240V with ac, 50 cycles per second. Generally, the electricity outlets are three-pronged - two parallel flat pins with a ground outlet. You may purchase adaptors in any of the hardware stores or rent one from the hotel. We recommend travelling with your own international adaptor should you have electric devices.

    Documents and Visa Requirements:

Visitors must have a valid passport or internationally recognized travel document valid for minimum 6 months beyond the date of entry into Singapore.

Guests are required to submit an electronic Singapore Arrival Card within three days prior to arrival into Singapore. They are not permitted any earlier. • Fly to Xi’an, the energetic capital of the Shaanxi Province, and tour its most spectacular attractions, including the Terracotta Warriors Museum, Wild Goose Pagoda, Muslim Quarter, Grand Mosque and Tang Dynasty Theatre.

Special Notes: Any guests travelling with Portable Oxygen Concentrators (POC) or CPAP breathing machines should read further below for airline stipulations with regards to bringing this equipment on tour.

Please also review the documentation section below as a single or multiple entry Chinese Visa is required for this program and will depend on how many Chinese ports are visited on your cruise.

    Day 1

Disembark the ship and transfer to the airport for your flight to Xi’an. Upon arriving in Xi’an and passing through immigration, customs and baggage claim, you will start your tour with a visit to the Big Wild Goose Pagoda. One of China’s most revered pagodas, it was built in 652 A.D. to house the sutras and figurines of Buddha that a Chinese monk brought to Xi’an. The building was eventually expanded to ten stories, although only seven stories remain, as the others were damaged in various wars. Nevertheless, the pagoda is recognized as a symbol of Xi’an.

Next you will travel to the nearby Defachang Restaurant, popularly known for its dumplings. Carefully hand-prepared, the dumplings are available in dozens of different shapes and colors and filled with a variety of local ingredients. You can expect the meal to be wonderfully traditional. After dinner, you will drive back to the hotel to spend the evening.

Following dinner, proceed to the Shangri La Xi’an (or similar hotel) for check in.

    Day 2

Following breakfast at the hotel, you will drive to the Terracotta Warriors Museum, a repository for thousands of clay soldiers that were buried with China’s first emperor to accompany him in his eternal rest. Considered one of the world’s greatest archaeological treasures, the 7,000 life-size terracotta warriors and horses were buried for centuries until excavated in 1974.

The warriors are grouped in battle order, rank by rank, some mounted on horse-drawn chariots and others in infantry groups armed with spears, swords and crossbows. Each figure was individually created with unique characteristics.

Following the tour and a traditional Chinese lunch at a nearby restaurant, you will explore the Muslim Quarter and its Grand Mosque. Muslims have lived in the quarter for more than 1,000 years ago, beginning with the merchants from Arabic countries that settled at this terminus of the Silk Road. The Grand Mosque is particularly fascinating, as it reflects traditional Chinese and Muslim styles.

After visiting the mosque, you will return to the hotel to freshen up before driving to the Tang Dynasty Theatre for dinner and a cultural performance. The costumed show features ancient music, poetry, singing and dance, some of which were developed as parts of ritual prayers for a good harvest. Following the lively performance, you will return to the hotel to spend the evening.

    Day 3

After breakfast at the hotel and check out, you will visit the Shaanxi History Museum. Inside, seemingly countless exhibits depict the history of China from prehistoric times to the mid-19th Century. It offers an enlightening overview of the country, with a particular emphasis on the Shaanxi Province.

Then, it’s on to a traditional hot pot restaurant for lunch, before driving to the airport for the flight back to Hong Kong. Upon arriving in Hong Kong, you will be transferred to your hotel for the evening. Dinner is on your own.

    Day 4

Enjoy breakfast at your hotel. Check out time is at 12:00pm. You will be transferred to the Hong Kong International Airport based on your flight details. Should you have a late flight, luggage storage will be available at the hotel until your transfer time.

  • Gain a deeper understanding of Hong Kong’s culture and traditions by visiting key attractions such as Stanley Market and the Central District, riding a tram to Victoria Peak and cruising through a fishing village by sampan.

    Day 1

Disembark the ship and proceed to Hong Kong Island. For the ultimate view of the surroundings, you will ride the tram up to Victoria Peak. The world’s steepest funicular railway, the Peak Tram opened in 1888 and has been providing spectacular panoramas ever since. As you ascend, you may notice that the steep slope causes an optical illusion in which the skyscrapers seem to be standing at impossible angles.

After pausing for photos at the peak, you will drive on to Aberdeen fishing village and board a sampan boat. While on the water, you can expect to see fishing boats, Chinese junks and villagers doing chores. The experience offers a candid look into daily life, as does your next stop—a tour of a gem factory where you will learn how the craftsmen process the stones for sale or to be set into jewelry.

Then following lunch, it’s on to vibrant Stanley Market, a highly popular shopping destination for merchandise such as silk garments, Chinese costume jewelry and art. As an alternative in Stanley, you might explore Tin Hau Temple, which once stood at the edge of the sea, and the Murray House, an early 19th-Century building that was moved from its original site to the seaside.

Your next destination is Victoria Harbor. Board the renowned Star Ferry for a scenic cruise where you will experience the rhythm and vitality of the city from the water while enjoying the magnificent views offered by the Hong Kong skyline. Disembark and stroll along the Avenue of Stars which wraps around the waterfront. After viewing some of the icons of Hong Kong you will return to your hotel where the remainder of the evening is at your leisure. Dinner is on your own.

    Day 2

After breakfast at the hotel, you will depart for Tung Chung, a city on Lantau, Hong Kong’s largest island. The landscape is lush and mountainous, and you will enjoy a wonderful view of it while riding a cable car to Ngong Ping village.

Nearby, you will find Po Lin Monastery. Once a rather remote monastery, it gained prominence in 1993, when a Big Buddha statue was erected here. More than 100 feet high, it attracts pilgrims from all over Asia. Be sure to have your camera ready for photos of the iconic Buddha.

After a vegetarian lunch at the monastery, you will explore Ngong Ping village on your own. The large Buddha here is also impressive, as is the teahouse with its intricate architectural carvings and curved roof.

In time, you will return to Tung Chung and on the hotel to enjoy the remainder of the day and evening on your own. Dinner is on your own.

    Day 3

Enjoy breakfast at the hotel and then a day at leisure to explore the sights on your own or simply relax and enjoy the amenities of the hotel.

Kowloon Shangri-La, Hong Kong, sits in the famous shopping and entertainment district of Tsim Sha Tsui East. The moment you step out, your adventure begins!

Lunch and dinner are on your own.

NOTE: Due to the volume of guests who may participate in this program, guests may be split into two groups by our local operator and Days 2 and 3 may be reversed. For this reason, it is imperative to advise Regent Seven Seas Cruises at least 14 days before the program starts of any travelling companions so that our ground operator may do their utmost to place you in the same group.

    Day 4

Following breakfast and check out from the hotel, you will be transferred the Hong Kong International Airport for your flight home. Luggage storage is available at the hotel for guests with late flights.

  • Enjoy different perspectives of Hong Kong by visiting characteristic neighborhoods, cruising around a coastal UNESCO geopark and spending an entire day and every evening free to explore the dynamic metropolis on your own.

    Day 1

Following disembarkation in Hong Kong, you will drive to Sham Shui Po, an historical textile district that has been transformed into a trendy neighborhood. Fashions are still a mainstay, but shops offering other merchandise, contemporary cafés and enticing street food stalls are now prominent, too.

For a panoramic view of Sham Shui Po and beyond, you will walk to the top of Garden Hill. The views are well worth the 500 concrete steps you must climb to reach the summit. Continuing on, you will visit Mei Ho House, a building that is notable for being the sole remains of an early public-housing project. Now a folkloric museum, it was constructed after a devastating fire in 1953 left tens of thousands of people homeless.

A dim sum lunch in Sham Shui Po follows, after which you will check into the hotel. The remainder of the evening and dinner will be on your own.

    Day 2

After breakfast at the hotel, you will depart for Sai Kung, a district known for its lush surroundings, idyllic beaches and the Hong Kong UNESCO Global Geopark. A scenic cruise around the islands just offshore will present some of the geopark’s highlights. Unusual geological formations are abundant. They include craggy sea stacks, sea caves and volcanic hexagonal rock columns, which you will observe on High Island.

Disembarking at the island, you will visit Tin Hau, a temple dedicated to its namesake goddess of the sea. The fact that there are more than 70 temples in Hong Kong dedicated to Tin Hau underscores the significance of the goddess.

Back on the pier in Sai Kung, you will enjoy lunch at a waterfront restaurant before returning to the hotel. The remainder of the evening and dinner will be on your own.

    Day 3

Following breakfast at the hotel, the remainder of the day will be at your leisure with meals on your own. Feel free to simply relax, walk around wherever you please or you might contact the hotel’s hospitality desk staff for suggestions on how to spend your day in Hong Kong. Possibilities include shopping in Stanley Market, cruising the harbor in a Chinese junk, taking in the views from the soaring Sky100 observation deck and riding the Peak Tram to the highest point on Hong Kong Island.

    Day 4

After breakfast and check out at the hotel, you will be transferred to the Hong Kong International Airport per the flight details received. If your flight departs late in the day, luggage storage is available at the hotel or you may wish to book an extra night so that you can keep the room until your transfer, as check-out is noon.
