Description

Enjoy a leisurely, panoramic drive around Tortola, taking in its exceptional natural beauty before spending free time at a resort area. Once you depart the lovely capital of Road Town, you will ascend into the lush hillsides that overlook the city, which rims a crescent-shaped bay. Continuing along the scenic roadway that hugs Sir Francis Drake Channel, you will see a number of islands on the horizon, including uninhabited Norman Island. It is often referred to as Treasure Island because its rugged terrain is thought to have inspired the setting in Robert Louis Stevenson’s novel “Treasure Island.” Ahead lies Frenchman’s Cay, where the pirate Blackbeard plundered ships in the late 1700s, and Pusser’s Landing, a collection of shops and restaurants that you may explore on your own. On the return to Road Town, you will follow a northern route, pausing every so often for photos at lookouts.
