    Check-in time is at 3:00pm

All meals are on your own today.

For guests with early arriving flights, you may wish to book an extra night to guarantee room availability upon arrival or you may store luggage with the Bell Captain and procced to do some independent sightseeing or begin using the facilities of the hotel until your room is available.

    DAY 2

After breakfast at the hotel check out, settling any incidentals before you go and meet your guide in the lobby. Depart for Lacock, the village where all buildings date from the 13th and 18th century. Despite being a tourist attraction, Lacock remains a living, breathing village with most of its houses rented out to people whose families have lived there for several generations.

Visit Lacock Abbey which was founded in the early 13th century by Ela, Countess of Salisbury, as a nunnery of the Augustinian order. The abbey has been used as a backdrop for many films and TV dramas, including Harry Potter, Pride and Prejudice and Downton Abbey. The timeless nature of the architecture makes Lacock Abbey the perfect location.

After lunch at a local restaurant or pub, drive to Plymouth where you will spend the next three nights. This beautiful coastal city has a rich maritime history and is famous for the Mayflower Steps, the historic Barbican district with its narrow, cobbled streets, and the stunning Plymouth Hoe where Sir Francis Drake sailed from in 1588 to defeat the Spanish Armada. It also has one of the UK’s most beautiful waterfronts.

Check-in to your hotel for 3 nights. Situated on the edge of the idyllic Dartmoor National Park, Boringdon Hall and Spa is an enchanting 16th Century manor house converted to a hotel with an illustrious royal history. Sir Walter Raleigh and Queen Elizabeth are among its list of previous guests. Here you will also find Michelin Star dining along with a relaxing wellness spa and gorgeous views of the Devon countryside.

Your Wellness Room includes access to the award-winning Gaia Spa with its heated indoor pool, hydrotherapy pool, outdoor swim through, experience showers, heat experiences including a Crystal salt steam room and Finnish sauna. Access to the state-of-the-art gym is also included. Spa treatments can be booked and are an additional cost.

The remainder of the day is at your leisure and dinner is on your own.

    DAY 3

After breakfast at the hotel, meet your guide for a half-day sightseeing tour in Plymouth.

Your first visit is to the Black Friars Distillery, the working home of Plymouth Gin since 1793. This is the oldest working gin distillery in England and is situated in the heart of the historic port city of Plymouth. The building dates back to the early 1400s with the oldest part of the building – the Refectory, a medieval hall with a fine hull-shaped timber roof, dating back to 1431 – the ultimate place to enjoy a cocktail and where the Pilgrims are said to have spent their last night before setting sail in the Mayflower to the New World in 1620.

Take a guided tour and learn about the art of making the world-famous Plymouth Gin and enjoy a tutored tasting of the range.

After lunch at the Barbican Kitchen drive to Saltram where you can enjoy the house and garden at your own pace. Located on the outskirts of Plymouth, Saltram offers a tranquil escape with its rolling parkland and scenic views of the River Plym. A walk along the riverside or through the woodland makes it easy to forget the city is just nearby.

The estate was home to the Parker family from 1743, when they transformed an earlier mansion to reflect their rising status. The house boasts stunning interiors, original furnishings, intricate Chinese wallpapers, and an impressive art collection featuring works by Sir Joshua Reynolds. Highlights include a grand country house library and Robert Adam’s elegant Neo-classical Saloon.

The garden, primarily designed in the 19th century, features an 18th-century working orangery, decorative follies, lush tropical plants, and remarkable specimen trees, ensuring beauty throughout the year.

Return to your hotel where the remainder of the day is at your leisure and dinner is on your own.

    DAY 4

Today, after breakfast, you will visit the amazing Eden Project. Once a former clay mine with no soil or plants, this ambitious project transformed a huge crater into a beautiful world renown global garden, which sets the stage for an extraordinary day out.

Here you will rediscover the natural world as you've never experienced it before. Explore the massive, covered Biomes - walk through one of the world’s largest indoor rainforests, immerse yourself in the calm fragrance of the Mediterranean Biome and enjoy the extensive outdoor gardens. Discover places to rest, play and eat, and pick up inspiring ideas to take home on how to care for the planet that cares for you. You will have time for lunch on your own here.

Next, depart for Knightor, a working winery and old farmstead above St Austell Bay. Here you will have an exclusive opportunity to taste local British wines and learn about production and serving insights.

You will also visit Charlestown and explore the traditional Cornish fishing port. Once a thriving working port, constructed to export copper and China clay, Charlestown's principal industry is now as a film set and to welcome visitors who want to follow in the footsteps of sailors from the past. Beautifully preserved, the pretty pastel fishermen's cottages line the harbor, with a nice range of places to eat, drink and shop dotted around as well.

Return to Plymouth and savor dinner tonight at Bistro Pierre, located in the stunning Royal William Yard, a Bistrot, bar and heated terrace is the perfect place to eat in Plymouth.

    DAY 5

After breakfast at the hotel, check out and start your drive to Exeter. Exeter is an ancient city on the River Exe in southwest England. Dating back to the Roman era, the Exeter City Walls surround its center and Gothic Exeter Cathedral.

Today you will visit Exeter Cathedral. The Cathedral is a working church, in the Anglican tradition, and a place with a centuries-old pattern of daily worship. A world-class heritage destination, Exeter Cathedral has been at the heart of Devon for nearly a thousand years. Now, as then, it offers a refuge for reflection, a place for prayer, and a stage for artists, performers and musicians. It has witnessed a fascinating history and remains home to a living faith, a place for learning and a retreat for relaxation. Exeter Cathedral is, at once, a center of innovation and of ancient treasures, telling stories of the past while carefully conserving them for the future.

Exeter Cathedral has the longest unbroken stretch of Gothic stone vaulting in the world. Other features of particular interest include the Bishop's Throne, one of the finest pieces of woodwork of the late 14th century and there is original glass in the East Window.

Finally, arrive at the cruise port for embarkation. As you leave, take with you the memories of Britain’s Devon and Cornwall counties, their spectacular coastline and wonderful landscapes, unique Cornish culture and warm hospitality.

The remainder of the day and meals are on your own, after which you will overnight at the hotel.

    DAY 2

London is a city that inspires and amazes! A capital that basks in its rich history where around every corner there is something new, yet something very familiar. We take you on a tour of this majestic city, fully guided by a London expert.

Your day begins in a Royal Palace after breakfast at your hotel and a short drive outside the city.

On the banks of the River Thames, Hampton Court Palace started life in 1515 as a magnificent brick stately home for Cardinal Thomas Wolsey. Seized by Henry VIII at Wolsey's downfall, the Palace was enlarged and became home for Henry and wife number two, Anne Boleyn.

Explore with a Hampton Court guide the Tudor bedrooms, oak panelled corridors, and extensive Royal kitchens. Visit the magnificent chapel and banqueting hall. See how the Palace received a makeover by Sir Christopher Wren during the late 17th century reign of William and Mary. Enjoy the works of art from the Royal Collection on display throughout the building and take time to stroll around the grounds, admiring the fountains and getting yourself lost in the famous Hampton Court maze!

Return to the city for a superb 2-course lunch in a top London restaurant to enjoy a ‘Taste of Britain’ menu followed by a cruise on the river Thames. Enjoy a glass of champagne as you pass by the iconic Tower Bridge, St Paul's Cathedral, and the Palace of Westminster.

In the afternoon enjoy a guided panoramic tour of the city, starting from Parliament and Westminster Abbey, peer along Downing Street, home of the British Prime Minister, circle around Trafalgar Square, see vibrant Piccadilly Circus and the opulent Albert Memorial and view the city's famous museums such as the Victoria and Albert and the Science Museum. Head into Knightsbridge to drive by Harrods and then take a short walk for a photo stop outside Buckingham Palace before returning to your hotel at the end of this entertaining and rewarding day.

Please note: Parts of the itinerary may be reversed depending on local traffic conditions.

Upon returning to your hotel, the evening is at spent at your leisure, dinner is on your own.

    DAY 3

After breakfast at your hotel, begin the day with a journey to England's West Country, to the elegant city of Bath, famed for its therapeutic hot springs, a long and varied Roman history plus the beautiful terraces, crescents and circuses of the 18th Century that adorn the residential area of the city.

Bath's foundations go back to Celtic times when the springs were first discovered, and the healing properties realized. Enjoying the warm waters, the Roman invaders soon arrived in the first century and called this place Aquae Sulis turning it into one of the most important religious centers and military settlements in the northern part of the empire.

Through the Saxon era and the Mediaeval period up to the city's new foundation as a resort for Georgian aristocrats, making the three-day journey from the capital, the wealthy elite would take the waters to cure themselves of rheumatic diseases, stiffness of the joints and gout.

On arrival in Bath there will be a guided tour where you will walk along the original Roman pavement, before entering the Roman Baths to see the hot baths and remains of the temple of Sulis Minerva.

Next, take a drive though the delightful rolling hills and meandering streams of the Cotswolds, to honey-coloured stone villages down narrow country lanes. Time seems to have been given very little chance to march forward around these parts. Cottages of 17th century weavers’ homes stand next to chuckling streams, gentle rolling green hills and hidden valleys that stretch across these limestone uplands. With an expert guide on board your coach you will set about exploring this area and meander through this wonderful landscape.

Visit Burford where the old weavers’ houses cascade down to the valley of the river Windrush below and see Stow on the Wold with its ancient marketplace and hilltop views. Enjoy a hearty pub lunch in an old English hostelry during your journey around the Cotswold Hills as well as photo stops and guided walks in each of the villages you call into.

Please note: Parts of the itinerary may be reversed depending on local traffic conditions.

Back in London at your hotel, the remainder of the evening is at your leisure and dinner is on your own.

    DAY 4

After breakfast and check out, begin your journey to the ship via one of the wonders of the world and the best-known prehistoric monument in Europe ‘Stonehenge’.
