Casablanca, Morocco-port

Casablanca is Morocco’s largest city and industrial center. Its renaissance came with the French protectorate under its first resident general, Lyautey. It was largely his ideas on public works and the layout of the new city which gave Casablanca its wide boulevards, public parks and fountains, and imposing Moresque civic buildings.

Founded in 1515 by the Portuguese, Casablanca is now an expanding and dynamic metropolis, with wide avenues that are lined with European-styled modern buildings. Boarding your coach at the pier, you'll begin with a scenic drive along the coastal road (the Corniche), a tourist area that features splendid swimming pools hidden among the rocks and a wealth of restaurants and nightclubs. A short stop at the imposing Hassan II Mosque allows you the opportunity to capture some exterior photos of this masterpiece of Moroccan architecture.

Continuing on, you'll drive through the chic Boulevard of Anfa with its impressive mansions, before crossing Zerktouni Boulevard and making your way into the Habous Quarter. Here, you'll make another stop at the Royal Palace Esplanade where you can stroll about a bit and take in the typical Moorish style buildings that add to the charm of Habous Quarter.

A final stop will be made at Habous quarter where you can have some free time to shop before returning to the pier.
