  • Craft Beer Brewery Tour

Sample a selection of craft beers made with local ingredients at a microbrewery in Victoria, and then enjoy a dinner that pairs perfectly with beer at a second microbrewery.

After departing from the pier, you will soon arrive at one of Victoria’s premier breweries. The brewery will be chosen the day of the excursion, and the selection of craft beers for the tasting that follows will depend on what has been brewed most recently.

Visit must-see natural attractions such as famed Butchart Gardens and the Victoria Butterfly Gardens, and enjoy a sampling of local wines paired with local specialties.

After departing from the pier, you will enjoy an enlightening drive along the waterfront, through the urban oasis Beacon Hill Park and on into the Saanich Peninsula. Your first stop will be Church & State Wines, a winery especially hailed for its outstanding red wines.

During the tasting that follows, you might sample of selection of uniquely blended wines in the Lost Inhibitions collection, paired with seasonal foods. The winery’s Signature Series wines will be another option. These whites and reds have their own signature characteristics that reflect the terroir of the Okanagan Valley where the grapes are grown.

Continuing on, you will soon arrive at Butchart Gardens, which is named for the family that established the horticultural wonderland in an abandoned rock quarry more than 100 years ago. As you stroll the winding paths, you will see cascading fountains, bursts of brilliant flowers and some of the world’s rarest plants. Certain areas such as the Japanese Garden and Rose Garden are entirely devoted to one region of the world or type of plant.

Another serene setting awaits you just around the corner at the Victoria Butterfly Gardens, home to thousands of tropical butterflies and birds. A leisurely stroll through this recreated rainforest makes a fine prelude to the return drive to the pier, which will follow a route past Victoria’s architectural treasures.
