  • POST - TREASURES OF LUANG PRABANG CODE: LACLB1

In the heart of Laos, an unforgettable journey through the UNESCO-listed town of Luang Prabang offers a blend of cultural richness and natural beauty. This charming city, nestled between the Mekong and Nam Khan rivers, is known for its well-preserved architecture and tranquil atmosphere. You'll experience the serene rhythm of the daily "Tak Bat" ceremony, where locals give alms to the monks at dawn, and explore traditional rice farming methods at the Living Lands Organic Farm. Discover the cultural treasures of the Royal Palace Museum, Wat Xiengthong, and other historic temples, while also enjoying scenic views of the Mekong River during a relaxing sunset cruise. The trip concludes with a visit to a local village to partake in the spiritual Baci Ceremony, a traditional blessing for good fortune.

    Notes:

This program involves walking at times over uneven ground. It is not recommended for guests who rely on the use of a wheelchair, walker, cane or motorized scooter.

    DAY 1

Disembark the ship in Laem Chabang and transfer from the pier to Bangkok Airport for an international flight to Luang Prabang. Note: The group will be accompanied by a local representative on the flight.

Upon arrival you will be met by an English-speaking local guide and assisted with VIP Fast Track entry and Visa service through Immigration. Note: Visas will be required for most nationalities. Visa cost is included in this program. Passports will be collected for Visa issuance and returned when you are at the hotel.

Transfer to your hotel for check-in. Enjoy some time at leisure to settle in and have lunch on own before taking an evening sunset cruise downstream on the mighty Mekong River.

Enjoy the tranquil countryside and pass by the impressive Pha Daang Mountain range. Return upstream, taking in the stunning landscape in all its golden hour glory. Enjoy drinks along with tasty local canapes as the sun sinks behind the mountains.

Upon your return, drive to town for dinner at Tamarind Restaurant or similar venue, which offers a wonderful introduction to Lao Cuisine.

After dinner, return to your hotel.

Note: Guests are permitted to bring one piece of luggage and a carry on to Laos (further details below). Please pack accordingly prior to disembarking the ship. Any excess luggage will be sorted when you claim your luggage in the terminal and then stored at the hotel in Bangkok for your return on Day 3.

    Day 2

This morning you have the recommended option of an early start (5:30am) to witness and partake in the daily morning ritual of ‘Tak Bat’ or giving alms to the monks. This unique ritual is still followed by the locals in Luang Prabang.

Next, visit the local fresh market to see how the local’s shop and what they buy, before returning to your hotel for breakfast at around 7:30am.

After breakfast, transfer to the Living Lands Organic Farm. They grow organic vegetables, salad greens, herbs and rice and supply leading restaurants and hotels in Luang Prabang. They also support a wide range of community projects, from helping with village improvements to running English language classes for local children.

Here you will meet a local farming guide and be invited to interact and experience each step of the rice harvest as well as learn how different tools are made. The tour concludes with a tasting of traditional foods made from rice. When you depart, you will have a new appreciation for rice and how it is harvested as well as an admiration for the people of Lao who to this day continue to harvest rice without modern machinery.

Lunch will be served at the nearby Ock Pop Tock, a silk weaving center, overlooking the Mekong River. After lunch enjoy a guided tour to learn all about the silk weaving process.

Later in the afternoon visit the quaint Royal Palace Museum which provides a fine overview of the culture and history of this ancient city.

Next, walk along the quiet back lanes to the historic Huan Chuan Heritage House, a beautifully preserved 19th Century mansion where you will learn about its connection to the Royal Palace. Explore the wooden longhouse built on stilts, now a museum showcasing traditional Lao life. Learn about local customs, see displays of handicrafts, and admire the architectural details.

After a refreshing iced tea in the gardens, continue your walk along the peninsula to the country’s most historic and enchanting temple, Wat Xiengthong. With its roof that sweeps low towards the ground, this temple's architecture best represents the classical Luang Prabang style. Wander the temple grounds before crossing the road to Wat Khili where this temple’s charming traditional library building houses an historic photo exhibition of Buddhist heritage.

Your final visit today is the excellent Traditional Arts and Ethnology Centre, which gives a great insight into the rich and diverse ethnic and cultural blend of Laos.

Following this culturally enriching day, dinner this evening will be served at 3 Nagas Restaurant or similar venue.

    Day 3

After breakfast and settling any incidentals, check out from your hotel and drive to a local village where you will participate in a traditional Baci Ceremony. The Baci is performed in celebration of an important event such as weddings, births, or to wish guests good luck on the journey ahead.

After the Baci Ceremony, transfer to the airport for a flight back to Bangkok.

Upon arrival in Bangkok, proceed through Customs and Immigration and then meet a local English-speaking guide who will be waiting in arrivals to meet you. From the airport you will transfer to your hotel in the city center.

Meals other than breakfast are at leisure today and on own.

    Day 4

•Should you book any extra nights on your own or your flight is not on the last day of the program, transfers are not included.

    Expected Weather:

Luang Prabang is typically hot and dry. Mid-day temperatures often range between 25°C and 30°C (77°F to 86°F), occasionally reaching the upper 30s°C (around 95°F) on particularly hot days.

    What to Bring:

On this tour the key words are comfortable and casual. Remember when visiting a foreign country, local dress codes should be observed. Please avoid uncovered shoulders, shorts or revealing clothing. Although dinners are not formal, you may want to bring something a bit dressier for that time of day.

Also bring a hat or a head covering for sun protection and don’t forget your sunscreen, sunglasses and bug spray (you should have mosquito repellent for sunrise and sunset hours). It’s also a good idea to bring along a small packet of tissues or wet wipes. It is also suggested that guests bring comfortable walking shoes. Guests will be required to take off footwear and hats when visiting religious sites.

    Local Currency:

Guests are encouraged to bring US Dollars with them as they are commonly accepted in Laos. The local currency is the Lao Kip. It is advisable to carry smaller denominations of US Dollars, as this will help avoid receiving a lot of local change, which may be difficult to exchange back home.

    Electricity

Rooms are equipped with 230-volt, two-pin US style electrical outlets. We recommend travelling with your own universal travel adapter should you have electric devices.

    Luggage information

Light luggage would be most suitable for this 3-night trip. Please note that the airlines allow a maximum of 1 checked suitcase (20 kg or 44lbs) and one small carry on. Any additional pieces will be in excess, and fees will be paid to the airline at the guests’ expense. If you wish you can store excess luggage in Bangkok at the hotel.

Please ensure that any excess bags are tagged properly and visibly with your full name and suite number on the ship.

Note that Regent Seven Seas Cruises, the hotel, nor our local ground operator are responsible or liable for any lost or missing items. We do not recommend leaving valuables behind or in checked luggage. You should keep any valuables with you in your carry-on handbag.

Carriage of Portable Oxygen Concentrators (POC) or CPAP breathing machines on internal flights per airline regulations (subject to change as each airline has their own regulations)

1.Portable Oxygen Concentrator (POC) - Guests must obtain a Doctor’s Certificate mentioning their medical condition and the need to carry a POC. Further paperwork may be required by the airline.

2.CPAP Machine NOT being used in flight – please advise RSSC at least 95 days before your cruise if you will bring a CPAP on the internal flight(s) used in this land program. Please supply the make, model and battery type.

3.CPAP Machine to be used during flight – same as above + a doctor’s note is required mentioning the need to use the machine during flight.

*Guests are required to bring with them any details from the manufacturer regarding the CPAP specifications. While most modern CPAP machines are FAA-approved for in-flight use, having a copy of your manufacturer’s FAA-approval status will help to quickly clear any confusion that may arise.

    * Failure to provide the above details in a timely manner may result in a denial of this equipment at the airport for which Regent Seven Seas Cruises nor our local ground operator will be responsible for.

*Some hotels do not provide distilled water. While we can certainly request this for you, we cannot guarantee that it will be available. If received in a timely manner, at least 95 days before sailing, requests will be sent on the final manifest that our ground operators and hotels receive. We highly recommend packing your own supply especially on programs that travel to more remote locations in order to avoid not having it. Please keep in mind the rule for liquids in carry-on bags. Many hotels will charge for distilled water. If there is a fee, this will be added to your hotel incidental account to be paid at check-out. Fees will vary from hotel to hotel.

    Documents and Visa Requirements:

This program takes place between Thailand and Laos.

Please consult your local Thai embassy for entry requirements for your nationality to enter Thailand.

Guests must carry a valid passport with at least 6 months validity and have multiple spare pages for the Lao Visa.

Visas are required for most nationalities for entry to Laos. Included in the cost of this program is VIP fast track entry and visa service upon arrival in Laos. Passports will be collected upon arrival and while guests are en route to the hotel, the visas will be issued. Passports will be returned at the hotel. Please ensure you have a few blank pages for stamps and visa issuance.

    VERY IMPORTANT

The name on your cruise booking, passport, and ANY visas, if required, must all be exactly the same for flight ticket purchase for this program otherwise guests may be denied travel by flight. Please ensure that all documents are identical in spelling to the names provided for your cruise reservation including first, middle and last name. Manifests generated by the cruise line must match your travel documents. Guests are responsible to make sure that there are enough pages in their passports for any visas that are required – Minimum two pages for each visa.

The above information is subject to change and serves as a guide only. We would like to take this opportunity to remind all of our guests that it is the ultimate and sole responsibility of the guest to ensure they meet the entry requirements for each destination.

It’s also a good idea to bring along a small packet of tissues or wet wipes. It is also suggested that guests wear flat comfortable walking shoes (not sandals or open toed shoes / flip flops). Guests are requested to take off their footwear and hats when visiting religious sites.

    Currency:

Guests are encouraged to bring US Dollars with them as they are most commonly accepted in Cambodia. The local currency is the Cambodian Riel. You should take smaller denominations of US Dollars with you, as they will keep you from ending up with a lot of local change that you will not be able to re-exchange back home.

    Electricity:

Rooms are equipped with 220-volt, two-pin US style electrical outlets. We recommend travelling with your own adapter kits should you have electronic devices.

    Water:

Avoid tap water and drinks with ice in them. Drink mineral water and drinks in sealed containers. Water at the hotels in both Bangkok and Siem Reap is potable.

    Luggage:

For a program of this length and nature, we suggest no more than one suitcase per person.

Luggage Weight Restrictions: 20kg (44lbs) - Light luggage would be most suited for this program. Please note that the airlines allow a maximum of 1 checked suitcase (20 kg or 44lbs) and one small carry on. Any additional pieces will be in excess and fees will be paid to the airline at the guests’ expense.

If you wish you can store excess luggage in Bangkok at the hotel from Day 2 to Day 4. It will be stored and you will be reunited with it on Day 4 when you return to the hotel in Bangkok.

Please ensure that all excess bags to be stored are tagged properly and visibly with your full name , cruise voyage suite number and name of the ship. Bring any medications, documents and valuables with you. Note that Regent Seven Seas Cruises, the hotel, nor our local ground operator are liable for any lost or missing items.

    1. Portable Oxygen Concentrator (POC) - Guests must obtain a Doctor’s Certificate mentioning their medical condition and the need to carry a POC. Further paperwork may be required by the airline. Please advise RSSC of the specifics at least 14 days before sailing.

    2. CPAP Machine NOT being used in flight – please advise RSSC at least 90 days before the program starts if you will bring a CPAP on the internal flight(s) used in this land program. Please supply the make, model and battery type.

    3. CPAP Machine to be used during flight – same as above + a doctor’s note is required mentioning the need to use the machine during flight.

If received in a timely manner, requests will be sent on the final manifest that our ground operators and hotels receive.

    DAY 1

After flying into the Bangkok’s International Airport, you will be met outside of Customs and transferred to your hotel. Check in is at 3:00pm, and while every effort will be made to have rooms available earlier, this cannot be guaranteed. Should you have an early arrival time you may wish to book an extra night so that a room is ready upon your arrival.

You will spend the remainder of the day settling in and enjoying the amenities at your hotel or the sites of the city. Meals are on your own today.

A Regent Seven Seas Hospitality Desk will be located in the hotel where you can find local information or sightseeing options.

    DAY 2

Following check out you will transfer to the Bangkok International Airport. Upon arrival, proceed through check-in for your flight to Siem Reap. You will be accompanied on the flight by a representative from our local ground agency.

On arrival in Siem Reap you will be met and assisted with obtaining your Cambodian Entry Visa. You will then proceed to the Angkor Site to collect your temple passes which are required for touring. Once this has been issued, board your coach for the transfer to your hotel for check-in and lunch on your own.

NOTE: Your passport will be kept by our program operations team in order to process the visa on arrival and for exit procedures on departure day. Your passport will be safely returned to you on Day 4.

Later in the day, venture to the Angkor Wat Temple Complex – the highlight of this program. You will have approximately 2 hours to explore its archaeological treasures with your guide before returning to your hotel.

Your guide will point out the best spots for taking photos of this massive temple complex as you walk amidst the moss-peppered cobbled pathways, gaze up at the intricately carved tower tops and perhaps climb the steep and narrow temple steps that lead to wide courtyards. Lose yourself in contemplation as you catch the rays of the sun dancing off the bas relief carvings at sunset, the chatter of monkeys reverberating off the temple walls.

Many of the students’ crafts are offered for sale in the school store, ranging from beautiful silks and stunning lacquer ware to elegant stone and wood carvings. All the proceeds go towards the running of the school.

Continue to look around The Old Market (Phsar Chas) - the most popular with tourists and visitors, offering the greatest selection of souvenirs, textiles, handicrafts, statues, and curios of any of the traditional markets.

Participants must be able to board and exit transportation independently, including motor coaches, boats, trains, or airplanes, as applicable to your program. Guests who require assistance must travel with an able-bodied companion, as guides and drivers are generally unable to help. Please contact Reservations in advance with specific mobility questions or requirements so suitability can be properly assessed. This program is not recommended for guests with limited mobility or who require use of a wheelchair or scooter.

Meals - To ensure smooth and enjoyable dining experiences, guests with food intolerance or special dietary needs should contact the Regent Reservations Team at least 95 days before departure so these details can be added to the land program extension and shared with local vendors. Last-minute requests may not be accommodated.

Recommended items include clothing that can be layered, an umbrella, a light jacket or winter coat and gloves for colder destinations, a hat, sunglasses, sunscreen, swimwear, and comfortable closed-toe walking shoes. • POST - ESSENCE OF BANGKOK CODE: LACL73

Explore Bangkok like a local as you discover its temples, markets and the secrets of traditional Thai canal life. Tour several sites by tuk-tuk, including Chinatown, a fragrant flower market and striking Wat Po, the oldest temple in Bangkok and also known as the Temple of the Reclining Buddha. During a canal cruise, discover floating shops, teakwood houses and hidden temples as you glide among Thonburi’s complex network of canals. Also, visit The Jim Thompson House, a private Thai-style residence that now serves as a museum.

    Day 1

Disembark the ship and transfer to the heart of Bangkok and embark on a tour of the city by canal. Board a local river boat for an enlightening cruise along the bustling Chao Phaya River and through the complex network of klongs (canals) in the Thonburi district. Along the way, you will enjoy picturesque scenes of traditional Thai canal life, including floating grocery stores, speeding water taxis, teakwood houses built on stilts and hidden temples.

Your first stop is at the Royal Barge Museum which houses the ornately decorated longboats that were once used for royal functions. Here, you can see the lavish Suphanahonge, a gold encrusted swan-shaped barge used solely

by the king. In addition to Suphanahong, there are many other fascinating and unique barges on display, each revealing a remarkable degree of exquisite craftsmanship.

Leaving the Museum, you'll next travel to Wat Arun or the Temple of Dawn. The Temple is one of the most well- known and popular tourist attractions in Bangkok and you'll have some time to stroll around the lovely temple

grounds and view the various decorative murals.

Finally drive to your hotel where you will check in. The remainder of your day is at leisure with lunch and dinner on your own.

    Day 2

Following breakfast at the hotel you will begin your exploration of Bangkok by coach, traveling through vibrant China Town, Bangkok's commercial center for more than 200 years while en route to Pak-Klong-Talad.

Here, you'll be treated to a short stroll through the amazing kaleidoscope of colorful blooms and perfumed scents of what is considered the city's primary flower market.

Next you will have the opportunity to experience travelling through the old city of Bangkok like a local - via Tuk Tuk - a 3-wheeled motorized taxi that truly puts you in the heart of the action and allows you to fully absorb the atmosphere of this fabulous city.

Incredibly the grounds house over 1,000 Buddha images. The focal point of your tour is an opportunity to visit the immense gold-plated Buddha that extends to a length of 150 feet and rises to a height of 49 feet.

Continuing, you'll next venture to a high-quality shop where you can take time to browse for souvenirs. Thailand is famous for its beautiful Thai silk, jewelry and local handicrafts and the shop offers a diverse selection

    of merchandise for your perusal.

Return to your hotel where the remainder of the day is at your leisure. Lunch and dinner are on your own.

    Day 3

Following breakfast, visit the former residence of Princess Chumbot of Nakhon Sawan – Wang Suan Pakkard. The buildings are now home to a priceless Asian antique collection and exquisite wood carvings.

Continue with a visit to the private Thai-style house of Jim Thompson, the "father" of the famous Thai silk industry. The house now survives as a museum after the mysterious disappearance of the legendary Mr.

Thompson in Malaysia. On display in the main house is his splendid small Asian art collection as well as his personal belongings.

Guest will be required to take off footwear and hats when visiting religious sites.

Light luggage would be most suited for this 4-night trip.

Multi-day land programs typically include extended time ashore and may involve a range of activity levels. Guests should be prepared for walking over varied surfaces that may include inclines, cobblestones, sand, gravel, or natural pathways, as well as occasional steps or stairs.

Mobility - Guests with mobility concerns should carefully consider their physical ability and stamina before booking.

Packing - Please check the region’s typical weather before departure and pack accordingly. Recommended items include clothing that can be layered, an umbrella, a light jacket or winter coat and gloves for colder destinations, a hat, sunglasses, sunscreen, swimwear, and comfortable closed-toe walking shoes. Having wet wipes as well as mosquito repellent for sunrise and sunset hours is recommended.

Luggage on program flights – local airlines allow a maximum of one checked suitcase (20 kg/44lbs.) and one small carry on. Any additional pieces will be in excess, and fees will be paid to the airline at the guests’ expense upon check-in. Excess luggage storage in a secure location at the hotel is included. • PRE - ALL ABOUT BANGKOK CODE: LACLA2

    INTRODUCTION:

Discover Bangkok, where golden temples, vibrant canals, storied palaces, and riverside elegance reveal the many layers of Thailand’s captivating capital. From the color and energy of a traditional floating market to the grandeur of sacred royal landmarks and the cultural treasures of Ancient City, this thoughtfully curated program blends discovery, comfort, and time at leisure before embarking on your voyage.

    LAND PROGRAM DETAILS:

    DAY 1

Upon arrival at Bangkok’s International airport, you will be welcomed by a local English-speaking representative in the arrivals area and assisted with your private transfer to the Shangri La or similar hotel. Please exit the luggage collection area to the arrival hall at Gate C. Our Airport Representative will be in front of Gate C and will escort guests to Door 10.

Note: All travelers must complete a Thailand Digital Arrival Card, within 3 days of arriving in Thailand including the date of arrival at https://tdac.immigration.go.th/arrival-card/#/home

Hotel check-in begins at 3:00pm. Guests arriving earlier than this may wish to reserve an extra night to ensure immediate room availability upon arrival. Alternatively, if your room is not yet ready, luggage may be stored securely at Reception, and you may begin using the facilities of the hotel or set out to independently explore.

The remainder of the day is yours to relax, settle in, and enjoy Bangkok at your own pace. Meals are at your leisure and on your own. For groups of fifteen guests or more, an RSSC Hospitality Desk will be available to provide local information and assist with optional sightseeing arrangements that may be booked on site. A welcome letter will be provided upon arrival with any additional details.

Set along the legendary Chao Phraya River, the Shangri-La places Bangkok’s cultural and commercial highlights within effortless reach. With convenient access to the SkyTrain, public ferry terminal, and local transportation, the hotel provides an elegant riverside base from which to begin your exploration of the city.

Note: Couples or pairs will be transferred by private van or SUV (max 4 large bags total plus 1 carry-on per person); solo guests will use a sedan (2 large suitcases plus a carry-on). Extra luggage may require a larger vehicle at additional cost—notify your RSSC booking agent at least 14 days before sailing with this information. Transfers include a driver only.

    DAY 2

After breakfast, venture beyond the city for one of Bangkok’s most memorable experiences: the famed Damnoen Saduak Floating Market. This colorful waterside marketplace comes alive with vendors navigating narrow canals in small wooden boats laden with handicrafts, souvenirs, tropical fruits, local delicacies, and one-of-a-kind finds. The journey itself offers a vivid glimpse into daily life along Thailand’s traditional waterways.

Travel by small boat through a maze of canals framed by stilted wooden houses before arriving at the bustling market. Here, the pace is lively, the atmosphere wonderfully spirited, and the scene distinctly Thai. Watch skilled vendors paddle with ease, browse for keepsakes, and sample tempting local treats from the stalls along the docks. For guests seeking an authentic and engaging Bangkok experience, Damnoen Saduak offers an unforgettable morning of culture, color, and charm.

In time, return to your hotel, where the remainder of the day is at your leisure.

7:00am Depart to Damoen Saduak Floating Market

Following breakfast, meet your guide for an introduction to Bangkok’s royal and spiritual heritage, beginning with the magnificent Grand Palace and the revered Temple of the Emerald Buddha.

Established in 1782 at the dawn of the Chakri Dynasty by King Rama I, the Grand Palace served as the residence of Thailand’s kings until 1949 and remains the setting for royal ceremonies and state occasions. Within its walls, ornate halls, shimmering mosaics, gilded rooftops, and soaring spires create one of the country’s most resplendent architectural ensembles. The highlight is Wat Phra Kaew, the Temple of the Emerald Buddha, home to one of Thailand’s most sacred images: a revered Buddha statue carved from a single piece of emerald-green jasper.

After your visit, return to the hotel to enjoy the rest of the day at leisure.

    DAY 4

After breakfast and hotel check-out, depart for Laem Chabang with an enriching stop at Ancient City, an extraordinary open-air cultural park spanning approximately 200 acres. Designed as a living panorama of Thai history, this expansive site showcases reproductions of palace halls, temples, stupas, stone sanctuaries, traditional homes, reconstructed historic buildings, and regional village scenes that together offer a sweeping view of Thailand’s architectural and cultural heritage.

Because of the park’s remarkable scale, much of the visit will be enjoyed by local tram, with select stops for closer views and interior visits where possible. Highlights may include Old Market Town, Khao Phra Vihan (Preah Vihear), and Sanphet Prasat Palace.

Following your visit at the Ancient City, continue to Laem Chabang port for embarkation.

    Expected Weather:

Hot and Dry. The average mid-day temperatures can hover to upper 30s C (85-90 F), especially in inland areas like Siem Reap. It is less breezy at this time of year. The sun can be quite intense, and the air becomes hazier with the rising humidity. Though sometimes quite hot, the lack of rain still leaves this good time of year to visit the temples.

    What to Bring:

On this tour the key words are comfortable and casual. Remember we are visiting a foreign country and local dress codes should be observed. Please avoid uncovered shoulders, shorts or revealing clothing. Trousers or pants covering the knees are required to be worn when visiting Angkor Wat and Bayon Temple. Although dinners are not formal, you may want to bring something a bit dressier for that time of day.

Bring a hat or a head covering for sun protection and don’t forget your suntan lotion, sunglasses and bug spray (you should have mosquito repellent for sunrise and sunset hours). It’s also a good idea to bring along a small packet of tissues or wet wipes. It is also suggested that guests wear flat comfortable walking shoes (not sandals or open toed shoes / flip flops). Guest are requested to take-off their footwear and hats when visiting religious sites.

We recommend travelling with your own adaptor kits should you have electronic devices.

Water: Avoid tap water and drinks with ice in them. Drink mineral water and drinks in sealed containers. Water at the hotels in both Bangkok and Siem Reap is potable.

    Luggage:

Light luggage would be most suited for this 3-night trip. Please note that the airlines allow a maximum of 1 checked suitcase (20 kg or 44lbs) and one small carry on. Any additional pieces will be paid to the airline at the guests’ expense. If you wish you can store excess luggage with our local ground operator in Bangkok at the hotel. Please ensure that all excess bags are tagged properly and visibly with your full name and suite number on the ship. You will be re-united with it on Day 3. Please pack accordingly as bags will be separated when you disembark the ship.
