  • Discover Brisbane

Enjoy a brief orientation drive of the city highlights followed by free time to explore independently. Shop, dine or simply enjoy the river city.

The capital of Queensland, Brisbane is the state’s historic and cultural center, seat of government and a major port. From the days of colonization, it seemed Brisbane was destined to become one of the brightest stars of Australia. With a population of one million and as host to both the 1988 World Expo and 2001 Goodwill Games, the city has fulfilled its potential.

From the pier in Mooloolaba, is an approximately 90 minute drive to Brisbane. Your motor coach will take you past some of the city’s highlights, including the Parliament House, Treasury Building, Customs House, Cultural Centre and Botanical Gardens. Learn about the city as your guide narrates the history of Brisbane’s transformation from a penal colony to a municipality and then to a consolidated metropolitan area. As you take in the sights, you may notice that Brisbane is quite a new look city, as many of the old, more unsightly buildings have been bulldozed to make way for glittering glass and concrete towers, glamorous hotels and chic shopping malls. Brisbane’s eclectic blend of historic and modern architecture makes it a city not to be missed.

After your orientation drive, you will be dropped in the city center to enjoy nearly 3 hours of free time. Make your way back to your coach at the pre-arranged meeting time for the return transfer back to the pier.

Please note: Tour is available to wheelchair guests who have a collapsible wheelchair and are able to make their own way on and off transportation. Guests must be self-sufficient or if assistance is required, they should travel with a companion who can provide this.
