  • Panoramic Views of Rhodes

Departing from the pier, drive along the west coast of the island for about 10 miles before you reach Mount Filerimos with its wonderful view of the city of Rhodes. On the top of this hill stood one of the three ancient cities of Rhodes, Lalyssos. Here you can admire the Church of Our Lady, built by the Knights of St. John in the 15th century, as well as the Church of St. George which has wall paintings from the 14th and 15th centuries.

You will then drive to the village of Lindos, passing through picturesque villages on the way. Today, Lindos has approximately 1,000 inhabitants and has been declared a monument for preservation and thus has been able to maintain its traditional color. From a distance you will be able to see the ancient Acropolis of Lindos, which, according to Homer in the Iliad, was built by the Dorians along with the cities of Kamiros and Lalyssos and was a considerable nautical power in ancient times. A 40 minute visit to the town of Lindos (not the Acropolis) is included. Here you can browse for souvenirs or stroll the quaint narrow streets.

On your way back, you will make a short stop for a refreshment at Haraki village. You will then pass by Monte Smith from where one can see over the town of Rhodes and the castle, the coast of Turkey and the nearby islands.

Please note: Comfortable walking shoes are recommended for this tour which involves moderate walking and 40 steps to climb at the Church in Filerimos.
