The first German colonists arrived to this area in 1852, and have remained to the present day, a small but influential percentage of the 130,000 inhabitants. The town spreads along a narrow seaboard and climbs the slopes enclosing it to the north. Since 1985, the city has experienced considerable growth and development, fueled by more than 30 salmon farms, in addition to forestry, fishing industries and service companies. Day 1 - Thursday March 4th, 2027

Depart the ship in Puerto Montt and meet your guide. Enjoy the scenic drive to Frutillar, a lakeside town located in the Los Lagos Region of southern Chile, celebrated for its German heritage, musical culture, and stunning natural scenery. Set along the shores of Lake Llanquihue, the town offers postcard like views of the Osorno Volcano on a good weather day.

Founded by German settlers in the mid 19th century, Frutillar retains much of its European influence. This is reflected in its traditional wooden architecture, colorful gardens, and the local gastronomy, which features staples such as kuchen, strudel, and artisan sausages.

The atmosphere in Frutillar is peaceful and welcoming, making it an ideal destination for nature lovers, cultural travelers, and anyone looking to relax by the water. The cozy cafés and well maintained public spaces contribute to Frutillar’s warm and scenic charm. Here, you will enjoy free time to visit at your own pace before enjoying a group lunch in a local restaurant.

After lunch, proceed to the airport for a domestic flight to Santiago.

Upon your arrival in Santiago, you’ll be greeted by your local guide who will accompany you on a scenic drive to your overnight hotel, Las Majadas, which is nestled in the heart of Chile’s renowned Maipo Valley. This picturesque region stands as Chile’s premier wine country, celebrated for its rich, fruit-forward Cabernet Sauvignon and home to some of the nation’s most acclaimed vineyards—earning it the title “The Bordeaux of South America.”

The Maipo Valley is truly the cradle of Chilean winemaking, with its first vines planted near Santiago in the 1540s and a remarkable expansion in the 1800s, spurred by the fortunes of enterprising Chileans. Framed by the majestic Andes and Coastal mountain ranges, the valley enjoys a unique microclimate—ideal for cultivating world-class grapes and producing high-quality wines that have put Chile on the global viticulture map.

After a one-hour road transfer from Santiago, arrive at Hotel Las Majadas. The property on which the hotel stands boasts a legacy of visionaries: one proprietor engineered the Pirque Canal, channeling the pristine waters of the Maipo River through the valley, while another commissioned the magnificent French chateau-inspired palace at Las Majadas in the early 1900s. The estate is embraced by a majestic park that has flourished for over a hundred years, featuring more than a thousand trees—including stately sequoias, elegant palms, and rare Lebanese cedars—creating an oasis of tranquility and beauty.

Your stay unfolds at the contemporary Hotel Las Majadas, opened in 2016, where sleek minimalist interiors provide a striking contrast to the estate’s ornate historic palace which is now solely reserved for exclusive meetings and events. Indulge in culinary artistry at Sequoia Restaurant, renowned for its exceptional gastronomy and for ultimate relaxation, immerse yourself in the Kura Spa’s array of soothing treatments and massages.

After checking in, dinner will be served at Sequoia Restaurant after which you may join a fun hands on cocktail workshop designed to explore creativity, technique, and the rich cultural influences behind mixology. The experience is led by one of the hotel’s expert bartenders.

    Day 2 – Friday March 5th, 2027

After a delicious breakfast at the hotel, meet your guide and depart for your morning nature-focused experience in the heart of the wine region.

Lo Fontecilla is a scenic “soft trekking” route located in the Maipo Valley known for its native sclerophyll forest, unique views of the Maipo valley, and irrigation canals. The trail winds through ravines, streams, viewpoints, and areas of high endemism, with excellent opportunities to observe native birds of the valley. It’s ideal for those seeking nature and tranquility without high physical demand.

After your trek, proceed to Haras de Pirque, an iconic winery known for its horseshoe shaped architecture and panoramic views of the Maipo Valley. The unique horseshoe shape pays homage to the thoroughbred farm that is located a short distance away and the winery’s location on a hillside enables it to integrate gravity flow technology to all phases of wine production limiting the use of mechanical pumps. As a result, the grapes are handled as gently as possible, extracting only the softest tannins and preserving balance and precision.

Today, all the wines and vineyards of Haras de Pirque are organic and certified by the CERES institute which means that only environmentally friendly products are used in the production process.

Begin with a delicious three course lunch at its Hussonet Restaurant—an intimate space designed to highlight seasonal flavors paired with Haras’ organic wines.

Following lunch, conclude with a signature experience beginning on the main terrace overlooking the Andes, followed by a guided walk through the vinification and aging cellar. Enjoy a tasting of three premium wines paired with selected bites, served in the winery’s striking underground tasting room. This one hour experience blends architecture, premium winemaking, and the unique character of Maipo Alto.

Return to your hotel for some time at leisure and then to crown this day, the group will take part in a “Grill to table” workshop. Come together around the fire as a space for creation and connection. Alongside the chef, participants explore the versatility of open-fire cooking, expanding the traditional view of the grill beyond meats. Through preparations that move between savory and sweet, ingredients from land and sea are featured, paired with selected wines and beers, in an atmosphere that encourages conversation and a sense of community.

    Day 3 – Saturday March 6th, 2027

After breakfast and check out, you will board your vehicle and drive to the city of Santiago.

Today’s tour will include the most important highlights of historic Santiago, including the heart of the city, Plaza de Armas Square, the Metropolitan Cathedral and various historic buildings. A short stop is also made at La Moneda (Government Palace) for photos.

At the conclusion of your city tour, you will drive to the port of San Antonio to rejoin the ship.
